Re: The long journey of a Padawan: FLM Wizards

Coach Mac's Wizards no more winless in the FLM

For the final game of the 2nd FLM regular season of 2K20, the Wizards hosted the Detroit Pistons in the Capital Arena.

Early in the game Washingthon seems to force a high tempo on the opponent with an aggresive defense and an efficient offense.

Suddenly the Wizards forgive their 15 games loosing streak, they start to win duels. Brown Jr is dominant on defense both at the perimeter or under the rim while Wall and Bagley keep scoring.

Suddenly a miracle seems possible. Wizards have a 10 points lead... Detroit gets less and less opportunities and look slow and dominated physically. It is unreal, the Arena is pushing, Wizards start to get confident and we even see Wall becoming less predictable and taking shoots.

Comes the bench and nothing change. Rookie Killian Tillie playing as a winger get a 3 points, the first of his career and leads the second unit while Gortat, the Polish pilar, forgive his slowness and gets a couple of key offensive rebounds....

Washingthon outcores Detroit 28-12 in the first quarter and 47-11 in the second... are you klidding ?

The Wiz men would not slow down offering a first win to Coach Mac in the FLM... "Tonight we forgot we were winless and we learned what Momentum is in this game".

The season finally ends on a positive note in DC. It is now time for evaluation and analyse.

Highlights
  • Wizards outscored Pistons 75 - 23 in first half
  • John Wall scored 30 points getting his best game of the season (11/18 at FG).
  • Rookie Killian Tillie scored 14 points in 16 minutes of playtime.
