    Hardly any swishes

I'm shooting a decent percentage but I get almost no swishes. Is there any fix for this? I use real player % as I'm practically elderly at this point.

That, unfortunately, is the "problem" - the real player % part. It's bad implementation IMO, but since green releases are tied to perfect shots i.e. swishes, playing with real % which has no greens drastically cuts down the number of swishes.

It seems like it's an oversight, and it's unfortunate for Real % players.

I know even mentioning this is just going to dredge up the "green releases are bad" discussion again (as if it ever stopped anyway), but it can't be avoided here.

Only perfect releases on user timing triggers the clean swishes.

What I don't understand is: if green releases never happen with real player %, so why does the CPU get them so often? I thought the CPU followed real percentages as well for their shots.

Nope. CPU can get greens. Basically, Real FG% assumes you have okay, but not great, timing, so you never green and never get swishes. The cpu operates completely differently, in that their release can end up with any of the releases, including excellent (which is when they get the green flash).

It's a really poor implementation decision.

2k devs said that the cpu shooting is based off of a user timing basis. Meaning that they’re no longer basing cpu off of rp% They said this before the game release

I'm glad I'm not the only one this is bothering. I don't play often and hadn't paid much attention to it, but over the weekend I played 3 games and during the second one I realized most of my makes weren't clean. After the game I went back and watched player highlights from the stat screen and noticed just how many makes weren't swishes. I thought maybe it was just that particular game so I played another and it happened again. I'm 43 and just can't get into the whole shot stick and timing thing, so real player % is the easiest way for me to play and enjoy, but this year it seems like they really messed that up. Too bad they haven't patched it.

I've always been a real fg% guy, but this year I had to go to timing because of this. Hopefully they make a change in the future.

Swishes basically don't exist in Real Player %. It's been an issue for a couple of years. Just last night I shot 300 threes with Steph in freestyle mode and didn't have a single swish.
