    1989-90 NBA Season Roster (PS4) - COMPLETE!

1989-90 NBA Season Roster for Download

I am very, very, very happy to announce that this roster is finally complete and ready for download. My username is ferrfs and the file name is, appropriately enough, “1989-90 NBA Roster.”

    FEATURES
    • The roster includes all 27 teams that were active in real life in 1989-90, as well as three Continental Basketball Association teams from that season: the 1989-90 Albany Patroons (Raptors), the 1989-90 Quad City Thunder (New Orleans Pelicans), and the 1989-90 LaCrosse Catbirds (Grizzlies).
    • Each team represents the state of its roster as of the beginning of the 1990 playoffs (more or less. For some teams, I had to fudge a bit to make it up to the 14-player roster minimum).
    • A total of 50 free agents are included, including 10 at each position. This pool is made up of players who were either really free agents in 1989-90, had recently retired, or played the season in Europe, the CBA, or elsewhere.
    • Each team has its actual coach and assistant coach (except for the CBA teams, where I had the head coach but couldn’t find an indication of who the assistant coach was). Playbooks and playstyles have been edited as well as possible to match real life. No other personnel (GMs, scouts, trainers, etc) have been edited.

This roster would have been literally impossible without the tireless work of the CAP creators of the community, most prominently but definitely not limited to Sellaz32. Also, a lot of the ratings were partially based on the spreadsheets created by SonicMage. Thanks to those guys, and to everyone who contributes to these boards every year.

And I think that’s it. Feedback is very welcome and I will try to make tweaks and re-release from time to time, but I think it’s about time to take a break from editing and actually play some games

    TEAM LIST

This list shows all 30 teams, including their overall, offensive, and defensive ratings, as well as the top three players (with overall rating) for each team. The Pistons and Celtics are both massively underrated by the game, for reasons I haven’t been able to isolate. Both play well in live games, but they underperform in simulation. Would love some input on where I went wrong with those teams.

Thank you very much, for this very hard fought creation of yours. It's no joke creating rosters of this magnitude, I wish the developers took as much time and put in as much effort.

    Great job.
I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

I can tell there was great effort put into this roster, and I’m glad it’s finally finished (I’m sure you are too). However, the one thing the bothers me is the lack of accessory edits to players that need it. I noticed a lot of 2k generics on the floor when I played a play now game. Other than that, great roster.

Yeah, here's the thing. I know nothing about shoes and have absolutely no way of knowing who wore what. I just made everybody's shoes 2K generic so that at least they wouldn't be too modern. Anybody who wants to edit all the shoes is wildly welcome to it. All of the other accessories, though, should be right or close to it. Anything in particular jump out at you outside of the sneakers?

Have you tried starting a MyLeague with your roster yet? Everytime I try the game crashes. Which seems weird. So far it's worked on play now just fine.

Nah it was just the sneakers. Like I said though good job on the rest of the roster, I couldn’t imagine doing something of this magnitude basically on my own

Crap, it's doing the same thing for me and I have no idea why. This is incredibly depressing.

ETA: It might be the G-league. It's possible the roster doesn't contain enough players to populate the G-league? If that's the case, I guess I could just dump a ton of low-rated generics into the FA pool and see if it works?

Yeah just tested it, it is definitely crashing in myleague and it didn't prompt me to fill rosters for those cba teams, so not sure what this is about.

It's got to be something with the G-league or maybe draft classes (I doubt that one though). MyGM and MyLeague Online work just fine

In 2k19, when I deleted everyone from my free agents list, my created roster would not work in Myleague... maybe something to do with that??

I think it must be G-league. Specifically, since there are only 50 free agent players and 14 players per team, there must not be enough G-league eligible players to fill it out. Does anyone know how the game determines G-league eligibility? Can I just dump 60 identical crappy generics into the free agent pool and solve the problem?
