I am wondering what NCAA game on the PS2 is your favorite I have 2005 and 2006 and are really enjoying them. Especially the superstar mode on 2006.

'09, for me. It was the first PS2 version to have super-sim (still the best super-sim, to date, IMO) while still having the great feel of '04, '05, and '06, which are my other favorites. One downside is that the penalties, particularly holding, can get so ridiculous that it can render it almost unplayable. I don't care that much about penalties, so I just turn them off. Another downside is that it uses stick kicking, as opposed to the 3-button method of the earlier years. All in all though, it's still my favorite.
EDIT: Officially changing my vote on this one. I've been playing some more '06 since I made this post and it truly is the best. For dynasty and on the field play, I don't think it can be beat, and perhaps never will. For Road to Glory/Race for the Heisman/single player mode, I still really like '09 due to the addition of super sim. It's not as good, on the field, as '06, but it still feels enough like it to provide a really good, fast single player experience. Just don't sim onside kick situations - they will be recovered 99% of the time, by the kicking team.Last edited by Tuscaloosa; 03-11-2020, 01:26 AM. -

07 was great, but I don’t like the kick return view, which you weren’t able to turn off yet. You can pause the game right away and it resets though. Also, the 1-AA rosters are exactly the same as the year before which sucks.
05 is also really good, except I much prefer the controls on 06 and they added some new animations for 06 too.Comment

Since my entire blog and YouTube channel are dedicated to 06, I have to go with 06! I've played them all extensively, but 06 has the best combo of things that matter with the least amount of flaws. 06 and 10 were the ones I played the most. Still playing 06 regularly with an Army dynasty I restarted a few months ago. 06 had the best competition once the sliders were tweaked and you play and recruit with house rules. In playing hundreds of seasons I think I only have a few national titles and it's a rarity to get through a season undefeated.Comment

06 was the last version where the crowd would visibly be at 25% capacity at the start of a game if that was your attendance average. For some reason from 07 onwards the stadium was always packed no matter what. Another reason why 06 is better than those that followed.Comment
