    Franchise Tag

I seem to remember that franchise tagging a player doesn't count towards your salary cap, or at least allows you to go over the cap?

Is this true, either in Madden or in real life, or did I just make it up?

IRL franchise tags do count fully against the cap. Never implemented it in Madden so not sure how they handle it.

I’ve only tagged one guy and it made half his salary a bonus which would have given a huge cap hit if I traded him. That’s definitely not how it works IRL

I always manually edit it and switch it all to salary.

Hmm... I never noticed that before. I rarely had to use the tag. Usually because my salary cap is so tight that I simply cannot afford to.
