What Do People Want Out Of Frachise Mode?

I have been wondering about Franchise. It’s totally obvious the devs couldn’t care less about franchise as it’s been the same since 08 when they took out the money management aspect like food cost and tickets etc that was in 07. The last PS3 and first PS4 version. I don’t know of any big changes since then. I may be wrong.

So I been wondering what could they do with it? What could they add that’s big? Yes they could add back in the money stuff but what else? I’m not referring to commentary or cut scenes but actual features that are realistic.

One thing I want that’s not in real life but was in the game is to be able to call up and send down as much as I want. I want to try minor players in the bigs for a bit and send them back down. I’d like to be able to do that whenever with whom ever. But I can’t really think of anything else except those non features like better/different presentation cut scenes and commentary.

I’m really curious to see what others want. I’d like to see what I’m missing since I can’t think of much. And hopefully the devs would take notice.

I don’t care about other parts of the game as I only play franchise and it’s stale for years. However I’m glad the rest of the game is there.

Better CPU management logic and a more immersive experience - knowing more about what’s happening in the universe.

better draft system
to be able to edit coaches
ACTUAL relocation
better regression and progression
rotating schedules
better trade logic
more trade slots
able to trade money
better financial system
able to set prices for concessions and such
accurate uniforms for all teams

and for the love of god, I want Old Tiger Stadium

Not retro mode! But coach engagement and coaching tactics. Call it SMART COACHING and sell it as a feature in the next iteration! Just watch a playoff game!

Better progression system & player & team engagement. Like momentum being carried over from game to game. Just look at NBA 2K! I was hoping for their frequency equipment feature this year. I really like inside the show idea but it never gives highlights the team you have selected more desired here. I broke the stolen base record and inside the show said nothing.

The energy system is broken and doesn’t affect much. Just player lock a entire season guys will never get tired.

Roster import while in season see NBA 2K. And yes that’s for SDS created players too. Because that day one roster FAILED big time. I still spent two days swapping out players who got removed did not really get to jump in until Sunday.

I would say just some love and not an halfway done rebranding so they have something to list under franchise.

Editable/creatable coaches with real attributes and tendencies, not the silly +1 Contact or -2 Power as it now stands.


Some possible attributes:


* bullpen strategy
* rotation strategy (4-man, 5-man, 6-man, opener, etc...)
* hit-and-run tendency
* suicide squeeze tendency
* stealing tendency
* lineup strategy (favors platoon, late-inning defensive replacements, etc...)


There's probably more, but this would go far to add more realism and immersion in franchise.

And if they are intent on not making changes to franchise, just make everything editable similar to nba 2k20. We can figure it just from there.

This pretty much sums it up. In my opinion it is the best franchise mode out there so all of this is just nitpicking, but them giving it at least some attention over the years would have been nice.

Sliders for sim stats and the ability to import players into a franchise, something similiar to 2k's Player DNA feature.

My biggest thing with franchise isn't anything missing. It's the logic behind what they already have. The trades make no sense in any mode. In my RTTS, I am on the Cardinals. They traded away Jack Flaherty to the Twins the first season. I didn't even look who for altogether (I did see Berrios in the rotations) but let's be honest, Flaherty isn't being moved for anybody in baseball right now. He's one of the best pitchers in the game and cost controlled for 4 more years.

Then on top of that, the lineups, rotations, bullpen management doesn't seem to make any sense.

If they just improved the logic behind everything, it would be a huge addition on it's own.

Then they could add in other things people are mentioning in this thread.

If there not gonna add anything useful could they at least remove morale...it makes absolutely no sense...it’s ridiculous that I’m doing a braves franchise and Smoltz is unhappy cause he’s not close to home...his rating goes from 97-93 because of this

Franchise has been improved over the years. They do care about it but it isn't their big money maker.

Unfortunately they have acted on some poor ideas from time to time which have been a step backward for franchise.

There should be an option to turn off quirks and happiness. Close to home is a great example. Most of those guys spend years in the minors and are thrilled to be in MLB regardless of the location.
