    Classic Teams - MLB 19

    Hey all,

I'm in the process of installing MLB 19, and I plan on bringing some of my classic sets over. I'll be focusing on the 70s, 80s, 90s and my top 50 all-time rosters.

I have created some of the players in these sets and rerated them but credit for many of the likenesses and equipment belong to the fine community of roster makers we have here. A special shoutout to the following roster creators as their fine work can be found in these sets: DrSublime, BigKlu, doncropper, Knight165, Rwings832, Dallmantor1, lortel7, JohnEKool, Aboti98, sc73ray, Marsl444. baumy300, and pjsnell10.

Now that it is so much easier to import entire rosters to MLB 20, I hope that someone brings them over to the current title to be enjoyed. I like to remain a year behind as its more "cost-effective" lol. I'll post updates as I move along and completed sets will be listed here.

Classic Teams - Divisional Era Concept
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

    Classic Teams 1.0 and 2.0 - Uploaded July 23rd, 2020

These rosters on the spreadsheet are built on an updated MLB 19 2020 roster. The current major leaguers will be moved to the AA level and present-day AAA players will remain untouched.

My plan is to make uniforms for the "relocated" teams listed in brackets on the spreadsheet when I move to MLB 20. The concept is to have the same eras in the same division for more head to head play. Since we can't have custom leagues yet, this was my answer to that. They are effectively arranged for playoff mode as well as you could have like era teams competing against each other. If you use them in playoff mode, or if creating uniforms doesn't interest you, at least you'll still have accurate classic teams if you choose to download these rosters. You'll just have to export/import the players to their original franchise. There are no duplicate players and each team has a 26 man roster as I have MLB 20 in mind. On the 40 man roster for each team, you'll see 25 players at the MLB level and one additional player at the A level.

There will be other sets offered in the future and I'll add them to the spreadsheet as they are completed. Any Classic Team roster labeled 1.0, 1.1 etc will consist mainly of teams from the 1960s, 1980s, and 2000s. The rosters labeled 2.0, 2.1 will have teams from 1940s/50s, 1970s, and 1990s. So, if you wanna take these over to MLB 20, fill yer boots

    All-Time Top 50 (Uploaded May 7th, 2020)
This top 50 all-time set is completely rerated. The all-time top 25 are at the MLB level, the next 25 are at the AAA and a mixture of current players and classic players that never made the cut are in AA. I used WAR as a sorting tool but didn't go by that metric alone. This set plays exceptionally well as I used JTommy's RBU career ratings. Very few players fall in the 90s range and a good range from high 80s to low 60s. There are no duplicate players. This set plays extremely well. Enjoy

Nothing in the vault yet for MLB 19. It'll take me a few weeks to port everything from MLB 18. I'm going to start with my top 50 all-time set. Once I upload sets into the vault I'll post the teams in the set on the OP and I'll give my PSN handle. Then, feel free to take them to 20

The AL East is done and I'm one team away from finishing the AL Central for my all-time top 50 set. The entire AL should be done over the weekend.

OK my first game with MLB 19. My Sawx hung on to beat the Twins in the AL Wildcard game despite giving up 3 unearned runs. Still working out the sliders as I see too many errors using my sliders from 18. Still, I got the "W" thanks to a 3 run johnson by Mitch Moreland. Sale was filthy punching out 10 in 6 innings. Shoutout to mkharsh33 for his terrific roster set featured here.

Well, rosters are done but I'm having technical difficulties. I had to move my PS4 a few days ago and when I set it up in the new location, I got these screens that stated my controllers weren't registered with the device. After I did that, I was disconnected from the PSN and I can't reconnect. PS4 tech support has diminished due to the virus outbreak and I can't seem to get it figured out yet so I can't upload anything. Once I do, I'll get these in the vault. Using them now and I must say they play wonderfully!

With the ability to "relocate" teams in franchise mode in MLB 20, I think it would be cool to do all-decade teams from the deadball/20s right to the 2010s. That would give 10 teams for the NL and AL. You would still have 5 other team slots to fill in both leagues.

Now I don't have MLB 20 yet and probably won't get it until later in the year. Just curious about ideas anyone may have for those other 5 team slots in each league. When I do get MLB 20, I'm definitely gonna do this. It'd be cool to design uniforms for each decade and I'd just mainly be taking players from my all-time top 50 set, for the most part, so the hard work is done. I'll eventually set the teams in MLB 19 and just forward them to MLB 20. Any ideas for those slots, gang?

I like to fill those teams with players/pitchers which played in that decade but saw very little to no playing time on any of the teams that are represented in the decades set. Example of such can be found in both my Early & Late '60s sets.

Yeah I'm thinking something like this Don but I want these teams to be competitive with the all-decade teams in franchise play. One idea I was thinking of is to fill the slots with players using the criteria of all-star appearances. So, for example, one team slot in the AL could be filled with players with 7 all-star appearances (provided they are not on the all-decade teams - no duplicate players), then 6 appearances etc. I think creating the uniforms would be a blast.

I don't really know what the criteria are for naming teams but I'm assuming you have to choose a city so I'm thinking for the NL 50's all-decade team, just as an example, I'd call them the Philadelphia Fifties. The teams that are not all decade teams, I'd just use a city name and all-stars as the nickname. Then, if you can put numbers on the hats, the number could represent all-star appearances. Just spitballing...

I thought of that initially but decided I don't want duplicate players. I'd use an up to date present-day roster in MLB 19 as the foundation and drop the MLB level players to AA. Then I'd bring the AA players up and copy over them with the all-decade squads.
