NBA 2K20: ‘09-‘10 Season Roster for XBOX One (RIP Kobe)

In honor of the late Kobe Bryant, I’ve been working on a roster project to recreate the season in which Kobe got his 5th NBA championship against the Boston Celtics. That season was my favorite season of Kobe’s and it’d be a great tribute to do as I haven’t seen a 2010 Completed Roster done yet.

I had to recreate a good chunk of players for all the teams, but I also have to credit the creators of CAPs I used to help me build a foundation:

CAP credits: Tgor, Sellaz32, ojandpizza, bluboy, JaviD, and the rest of the Operation Sports forum community

Sounds great. Hope the contracts are true for that season with the money. Ages and years played should be updated as some custom rosters aren't. Appropriate badges would be nice as well. Good luck on the roster

Playing the beta I’m noticing a lot of CAPS with the nickname glitch. Hope this helps...

You can't Quick Edit ANY players in a Roster that has CAPS or you will end up with the glitch. If you download a Roster with CAPs and Quick edit you will get a name glitch on 1 or more of the CAPS on the Roster.

My solution is simple. You have to Export Player DNA for the Player (s) you want to edit and Quick edit them in player DNA screen and Add them back to the Roster.

I only use Quick edit, so not sure if you Edit each Player Individually if it will solve the name glitch . If anyone can confirm results from that type of edit it would be appreciated.

Hope this helps some of you Creators.

                      Hey y'all,

I know it's been forever since the initial post for this roster project, but I've been very sidetracked with life (working two jobs and online school). I would like to go at a faster pace, however I've been trying to allocate some time in between my hectic schedule, to try and give you all the best roster possible I can put out. Also, from the time I put out the initial BETA, I was updating attributes and I got up to the Miami Heat and for some reason I had lost all of my hard work, so I started from scratch.

                      UPDATE (6/21/20)

-Redone roster from scratch and have players who have portraits used

-All Ages and Years Pro have been updated

-All attributes have been updated from the initial BETA to reflect the 2010 season. (Credit to Vl@d for his REDitor II program to assist getting attributes from older NBA 2K's)

-All signatures have been updated to the best of my ability based upon what resources I had (used NBA 2K13. For players that aren't on NBA 2K13, I used NBA 2K10 and recreated their jumpshot to the best of my ability)

-Added additional players from initial BETA to replicate 2K10 rosters

-Updated a lot of players' accessories to reflect the 2009-2010 season

-Added contracts to reflect 2009-2010 season (see below for more detail)

-Season ending injuries that happened from the offseason up to the first two months of the season have been updated. Players out for personal reasons for extensive period of time (Allen Iverson and Tim Thomas) included to give proper rotations

I won't be releasing the roster just yet, until I can at least update the tendencies for all players, unless you want what I have so far.

                      FUTURE UPDATES:

-Working on calculating formulas for realistic player tendencies (credit to CelticLG for his detailed tendency edit guide)

-Rework badges (when either CelticLG comes out with his other guide, or if I can come up with formulas; I've been using MyTEAM card for badge reference for players that are available)

-Update shoes for all players to reflect the 2009-2010 season

-Add more players to the free agency pool that reflect the 2010 season (will use 2K10 as a reference)

-Edit and make sliders to reflect 2010 season (tweaking PopBoy's Beyond HOF sliders)

-Making MyLeague sliders to reflect 2010 season (tweaking PopBoy's MyLeague sliders)

-Creating future Draft Classes (using attributes and ratings from older 2Ks)

***Please have patience for this project as I want to accomplish this and give the community a fleshed, out roster that we can all enjoy and play/simulate!***

Here's some information about how I reworked contracts for the 2009-2010 season.

                        Contracts

(Credit to MaddenKing94 for this formula)

When coming up with trying to get accurate contracts, I stumbled upon MaddenKing94’s post for his 2006-2007 Roster. He used a formula for contracts to reflect the 2006-2007 salaries to fit the 2019 salary cap since he was playing on 2K19. I tried that same approach, however since the contracts of the top two paid players (T-Mac and Kobe) exceeded the salary amount 2K allows ($38.15 Mil) after inflated and adjusting their contracts to the 2019-2020 season, I had to come up with a different approach.

Since the lowest possible salary cap you can set for MyLeague is 89 Mil, I decided to use that as reference to inflate the 2009-2010 contracts to somewhat reflect the true amount the player was making for that season. The final result to get contracts correct are going to be flat inflation adjusted contracts.

Based on MaddenKing94’s post (2006-2007 Detailed Roster), this is the formula I’m going to be following:

(Player Contract for 2009-2010 ÷ $57,700,000 or aka 2009-2010 salary cap) × $89,000,000 or aka Minimum Salary CAP slider

So based on that, let’s take the top two paid players from the 2009-2010 season and calculate their adjusted salary:
                        1. Tracy McGrady (NY) .............. $23,239,562
                        2. Kobe Bryant (LAL) ............... $23,034,375

                        Examples:

Tracy McGrady’s adjusted contract for MyLeague:
                        ($23,239,562 ÷ $57,700,000) × $89,000,000 ≈
35,846,118.16 or rounded up closely to 36 Mil

Kobe Bryant’s adjusted contract for MyLeague:
                        ($23,034,375 ÷ $57,700,000) × $89,000,000 ≈ 35,529,625.22 or rounded up closely to 35.50 Mil

(Disclaimer: Every player’s salary will be adjusted closely based upon the values that 2K allows; so accuracy wise it will be close but not exact)
