Highlights

Liverpool win the title - no shocks there. Manchester City did hand them their third loss of the season despite having Rodri sent off in the first half. However, Liverpool's emphatic 5-0 thrashing of Aston Villa meant they could clinch the title away to Brighton the following week and they did just that. Leicester City endured a torrid month, winning just once to allow Chelsea to join them on 59 points, although they do have a game in hand. Manchester United were in fine form, matching their FA Cup and European performances to move within two points of 3rd place. Sheffield United's lack of games meant they slipped right down to 9th, whilst Tottenham suffered defeats to Arsenal, Bournemouth and Sheffield United to take them all but out of the hunt for a Europa League spot.

At the bottom end of the table things have gotten tight. Seven points separate Bournemouth in 13th and Watford in 18th, whilst Aston Villa still hold two games in hand on the majority of those in the relegation fight. Norwich City's loss to fellow strugglers West Ham United confirmed their relegation, whilst Watford picked up just two points to drop into the danger zone. With five games still to play Newcastle United look safe whilst Bournemouth's three wins in April looks to have kept them in the Premier League for another season.
