    Player Lock Baserunning

I really struggle with player lock baserunning. I'm using Buttons control to be consistent with my normal baserunning. But, it's backwards with R1 advancing.

How do you know about taking an extra base? Is there any indication, since you can't see the ball in the outfield?

What is the best way to steal? I don't think you can preload a steal. Do you just hit R2 on the pitcher's move to the plate?

I don't understand why player lock baserunning has to be so different. I'm working on Jackie evolution, and getting picked off left and right.

I have absolutely no idea how to slide when in player lock. I frequently seem to end up sprinting into centerfield instead of sliding to the outside of the bag.

I'm a longtime veteran of Road to the Show, so it's been second nature to me.

I use Analog baserunning controls. To steal, this is what I do:

      1. I don't try to take an extra step. Too often it's not worth it.
      2. Hold R1 to lean toward the next base.
      3. Hold the left stick to the left so that you immediately return to the base on a pickoff attempt. With no extra leadoff, it's virtually impossible to get picked off if you do this. I do this out of habit even if I'm not stealing.
      4. Upon movement toward the plate, push the left stick to the right to run.
      5. Slide by holding L1 and using the right stick to choose the slide type (up for head-first, down for feet-first, left and right to chose the side of the bag to slide to). Having to hold L1 to slide is new in MLB 20.

How do you know about taking an extra base? Is there any indication, since you can't see the ball in the outfield?
While you're running, you can hold L2 to show the broadcast camera or hold R3 to keep both your player and the ball in the frame.
