Daniel isn't Real is also a very, very good movie on Shudder. A little surrealist, but solid little flick.

I also enjoyed the Lodge & Parasite (both on Hulu) recently, although Parasite might fall under the Thriller genre for most.

wow .....you said Phantasm..... the ending was scary!!!!

The excorcist- I slept with a cross under my pillow for a long time after I watched that movie.... I will not watch this movie to this day.
I also remember my brother said his wife passed out when they went to see this in the theater, she does not watch any horror movies to this day.

      Id add:
      Poltergeist
final destination movies. just the concept/plot is creepy.
      Omen - the original
      Salems Lot - the original.

My son and wife share my passion with horror.

We binged the Hell House Trilogy on Shudder. The first one was great. The second one was creepy but overall meh because the acting was laughable bad. The third one was a big improvement on the 2nd and wrapped up everything really nicely.

The first one I consider one of the best in the found footage genre.

I would recommend watching all three. It was a great story.

We then watched The Canal. An Irish import. Not bad at all. Creepy murder/supernatural flick.

Just started a cool series called Channel Zero.

Also The Wolf Creek series was excellent. 2 seasons.

The Wretched (which the wife and I saw and liked) is getting a lot of attention as drive-in theaters open. Most watched movie at drive-ins this month, making over $600,000

Give it a look On Demand. 7/10 score

I finally watched Cannibal Holocaust on Joe Bob Brigg's Drive-In (the Shudder streaming service is topnotch for horror) and my goodness it is brutal. It is a found-footage film from the late 70's and I wouldn't recommend for the squamish or easily offended.

Come to Daddy is also a good slow burn Thriller (which are a offshoot 9f Horror, IMO) on Amazon Prime starring Elijah Wood. It is about a 30 - something hipster reconnecting with his estranged father.

What are some people's favorite foreign horror films? I'm going to have to go with The Orphanage as far as what I've seen. I'd like to see Let the Right One In and A Tale of Two Sisters as well, since I like their American remakes quite a bit.

I remember seeing Elijah Wood being interviewed for this somewhere on TV (for the life of me I can't remember where), and they showed a clip of it. I don't know if it would be my kind of movie, but I also didn't know that it intermixed with the horror genre either.

It really depends if you think Thrillers are just a subset of Horror like I do. The movie is definitely weird (just like his main character), so I'd warn you that it isn't for everyone.

The Woman in Black is pretty creepy, too.

I don't think I can watch that film again. Horrors is general scare the hell out of me, especially the religious ones (e.g. The Nun, Exorcist etc.), but I also can't watch Alien again, to this day. I am able to safely watch Aliens and the third and fourth installment of the series, but the first movie, no way.

I forgot this was a thread.

I'm going to give one more shameless plug here and suggest that people possibly check out Host on Shudder, with the main reason being my friend is in the movie (Haley Bishop). It's only 56 minutes long and has the Unfriended style of screencasting a Zoom call mixed with Paranormal Activity horror elements. Also it's 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, if that helps.

You can get a free 7-day trial on Shudder. I canceled on the seventh day citing that I was only there to check out one movie, and they offered me another free month right on the spot.
