Hmmm...we'll see. Player movement, physics & weight needs a massive overhaul. I doubt that's coming any time soon. Hard to believe Back Breaker still has the best around. So many things....

Well it begins again my friends. I wasn't going to get Madden 20 but they did enough to warrant a purchase from me. I'm hoping that with the Madden Bowl fiasco that's beating the drum a little louder for the people at the top to get out of the way and let Tiburon continue to take the steps forward.











I can dream anyway.

I heard EA was just going to cancel the madden bowl because it turned out to be a showcase of how bad their product was. I guess they thought "we could improve the game, or cancel the tournament." One of those options was definitely cheaper.

Fix your game so punters aren’t playing QB, fix the challenge system, add a new realistic injury system, improve player movement and animations, and invest in Franchise and I’ll listen.

I will try to stay positive and give Madden a chance to show off what it plans to do before writing it off. At the end of day, I'm a NFL fan but haven't had that NFL game I wanted to buy. Madden might be the only "sim" NFL for a long while. I always favored NCAA over Madden. I took a break after NCAA stopped. But after playing M16 and M17 for a little bit, I wanted to buy M18 because I felt the gameplay was solid enough where if they touched Franchise I could enjoy myself. But when that EA Play for Madden 18 came out and Rex said that Franchise wasn't getting touched because of focus on Frostbite and Longshot, that took M18 off the table for me. Then M19 was pretty much same thing just year 2 of Frostbite and Longshot. Then Madden 20 having a Scenario engine that wasn't complete at launch that promised features.

I want to want to buy Madden 21, but need to see a true step in right direction. First thing I would want to see is them go away from the Frostbite engine. Still don't like that EA mandated their publishers to use Frostbite. Then they need to really work on gameplay engine from ground up. It's frustrating seeing legacy issues from Madden 06. Then Franchise needs to get overhauled. I'm tired of that streamlined approach. A Franchise mode in any sports game should never be that simple be able to pick up and play by anyone.

Hoping for a strong emphasis on OL/DL play, an actual pocket for the QB and an upfield pass rush.

For me it’s all going to come down to what they do to make franchise continue to be playable once you get around the five year mark where every team is rated in the high seventies or low eighties due to the rich get richer progression system

Can't wait for a 15 second hype trailer that will be a bunch of 1 second jump cuts of RBs performing badly animated jukes and spins and a few random 1 handed WR catches.

I don't know what they are going to do, and I'm sorry to be a downer, but there is zero chance that they are going to do any of what you want to see in your second paragraph.

The development team members might get canned for even suggesting any of those things to upper management. Franchise is more likely to be removed than returned to the complexity of the old days.

I've just about given up on Madden. We've been asking for the same things for how long now? I've lost all confidence that EA even wants to make the type of game we want, and even if they did I lost all confidence that they even possess the competence to do it.
