I play an older version, 2014. In this time of no sports I’m trying to find ways to entertain myself, so I thought I’d try and create a young phenom player and see if I can break any records if I left everything on CPU control. I created a pitcher who was 18 and had a 96 overall rating. He got drafted by Milwaukee.
Something weird happened. By age 26 he was relegated to the bullpen and by 29 he had to retire due to lack of free agent interest. His rating had dropped to 63.
Why did this happen?
This also happened to another similar experiment, only this one was a catcher drafted by Baltimore. Same thing. Started at 94, by age 25 had dropped to 77 and by 28 was retired.
What did I do wrong?
