Should abilties be on or off for a sim CFM?

I am just curious about how franchise guys view Madden abilities. Take a second to vote and leave your thoughts if you are so inclined.

I don't care. I just enjoy playing a CFM regardless of the x-factor settings.

I don't care. I don't play the CFM mode at all or enough to care.

I turn them off because I feel certain ones can make the games out of control.

I think regular abilities are great, but don’t like the way that X-Factor abilities are implemented. I don’t think elite players differentiate themselves adequately without abilities, so I prefer to leave them to m even though it’s not ideal.

Off and it isnt even close. We played 9 seasons in my league with abilities on. The game becomes about playing through abilities instead of playing football.

We just started a summer league with updated rosters and abilities off. Much more enjoyable experience.

Always on. I have no interest in playing Madden 20 with abilities off, I think they are on the whole a value add to the game.

I do think abilities get a little out of control in franchise mode because breakout scenarios are too isolated (and frankly they are kinda easy to cheese), but player editing is my way around that.

I turn the abilities off. I think the system, in theory is good, but the application is horrible.
You should not have to do X in order for an ability to happen. Also, so many of the abilities are overpowered and, in my opinion, ruin the game.

100%. I think some of the SS abilities are a bit overpowered (like Joystick), but i just re-roll any of my players that get that one. Abilities are huge for the game and make a big difference in the CPU actually being a challenge.

Off. I like the idea of them but they caused way to many issues and they are really unbalanced.

At first when some of them were overpowered early on, I turned them off. Seems to be the story every yr for new additions. On PC it's nice that were able to control them more which is nice. If I leave them off now, it feels like Madden 19.5

I love the superstar abilities, some of the x factor ones are okay but some are waaaaay overpowered. The D lineman x factors are a bit ridiculous, even 90 overall rated tackles were constantly getting shed from the x factor players.

Sometimes when im about to play against a team with a x factor D lineman i will turn him down to a superstar and it feels a little better that way

                      That's 100% placebo.

The X-Factor Zone abilities don't do anything until they are activated. They are almost a complete non-factor in the game because they are so hard to trigger. Even when you do get someone "in the zone" they are easily knocked out of it, and I'm skeptical that some of the zone abilities do anything meaningful at all.

The only position that really gets helped by being an X-Factor as opposed to a Superstar is QB and that's because being an X-Factor gets them another Superstar ability. The Superstar abilities are where all the power lies, and those are active for the entire game.

This is how I’ve felt about the X factor abilities. They usually don’t do a whole lot to separate the players because they’re hard to get to and easy to knock out of. It’s the second tier superstar abilities that players get once they reach 90 overall. Like a receiver who gets “post elite” at 90 overall. That’s active for the whole game and he’s basically wide open any time he runs a post route. Or I also had Da’Ron Payne in franchise, him at 89 overall with 95 POV, almost useless. Him once he hits the 90 overall power rusher threshold and has “power specialist” superstar ability? Getting through the oline like a knife through butter.

I think they help balance User vs CPU play. At least makes it more punishing since your OLine gets shredded by any opposing defense with a X-factor pass rusher.

However, I can understand not wanting to have them on in User vs User.

I love the scenario engine, but it needs work. For one thing it doesn't appear to work for the CPU. Second, the User gets far too many opportunities most of the time. And a lot of the scenarios aren't that difficult to hit. I'd like to see the scenario goals hidden perhaps, that way users don't actively pursue those goals

I'd also like to see the breakout scenario engine spread over more of the season. Breakout players are rarely one or two week wonders. Those types of players in the NFL aren't deserving of Star/SS/X-factor status. Breakout players need to do it consistently over the entire season. The breakout scenario engine needs to incorporate season-long goals as well. Perhaps players get the development upgrade short-term, and if they continue hitting it all season they get to stay at that development or upgrade development further. If they don't continue to perform all season then their development gets dropped back to what it started at.

I think of players like Chark last season or Lamar Jackson. Rookie WR like McLaurin.
