Rivalries in universe (2k19)

Hey guys, just got the game and I'm doing some initial setup for my Universe. If I use custom rivalries but I want the game to generate everything else, will I need to regulate everything within the rivalry (matches, match types, title defenses, etc.), or can I just let it play out? Like if I put two guys into a rivalry and set it to low heat, can it naturally get itself to high without any further intervention from me?

Thanks so much in advance! I know it's kind of a nit-picky question.

It will escalate more times than not over the course of the rivalry depending on length. That's one thing I have noticed. And it makes for some good story moments and sometimes if you watch the matches or play them, it'll give you the option to branch the story a certain way and that's something I just had happen recently here and I thought it was really cool.

Thanks so much for answering! Yeah my plan is to basically set all the parameters (match tables, divisions, rivalries, etc) and just let the game do the rest of the booking, and I also plan on watching all matches. I treat Universe like GM Mode so I just want to be the architect, sit back and enjoy.

Any further tips on making things organic as possible without micro managing everything? Once again I super appreciate the response! Was getting white noise on the subreddit haha.

Honestly I couldn't give more tips because I micromanage this stuff since I do a Universe thread over in the Dynasty section [emoji23] but I set up the three "main" rivalries and have others go around those if that makes sense. So if you're curious you can check out the thread for more. It should be in this board as well under the "How's your Universe going" thread. Can't remember the exact title of the thread but it's something like that haha! I hope you enjoy the game though!
