Ohio State walked into Michigan and put a whoopin on the #5 team in the country and sent a clear message to the rest of the country that they are the best team in college football. Barring a huge upset to #10 Iowa this weekend, which nobody see's happening, the Buckeyes will be making their third consecutive National Championship appearance. They won it 2 years ago, lost last year without their coach, and should be back this year with their interim coach and could be the first U5 team in OD history to go undefeated without their head coach. Washington who is also 12-0 and should be a lock to play OSU, will face and Arizona State team that they beat 48-14 earlier this year. Anything can happen in college football but neither one of these matchups are even remotely intriguing. If one of these teams does somehow blow it then things get interesting for who would be #2. While most people feel the defending champion Georgia Bulldogs are at worst #2 in the country this year, Navy jumped Georgia in the polls in week 15 after beating Army who was ranked #6. Navy is at #3 with the Bulldogs at #4 and Michigan State at #5 who just 2 weeks ago also jumped Georgia. The Spartans dont play this week so their fate lies in the hands of absolute catastrophe. The Bulldogs who will play #19 Auburn need an upset up top and for the polls to favor them over Navy who doesnt have anywhere near the resume or strength of schedule. Navy needs an upset and just to hold their ground. Odds are the rankings dont change going into bowl week considering there are no real elite matchups, but you never know.
