    Ncaa 04 vs Ncaa 06

Loved both these games on ps2. Still have them. I preferred 04 just by a hair over 06 but can’t go wrong with either.

For the experts out there what do you think one game did better over the other?

Re: Ncaa 04 vs Ncaa 06

I would play 04 more but it has several missing features I like that 06 has. Just to name a few:

    - can't flip direction of the run
    - can't attack deep against Zone due to defenders backpedaling way too far back regardless of routes underneath
    - 55-man roster, 70 is better
    - have to turn off passing icons in order to run with QB
    - bare-bones dynasty mode
    - forced to recruit a certain amount of players at each position, regardless of preferred offensive style
    - no sub packages
    - no custom playbooks
    - no conference cross-divisional schedule rotation. This doesn't effect all teams, only conferences with 10+ teams or with a conference title game

I can live with most of these things. Both 04 and 06 are the only ones with that great pick-up-and-play feel.

I don't know why I am OCD about this specific thing, but NCAA 06 has no fatigue and that just kills it for me.
      NFL- Green Bay Packers
      NCAA- Florida State Seminoles
      NHL- Carolina Hurricanes

Interesting, players get tired all the time in 06 but certain positions tire more easily than others.

I have never experienced this nor I have experienced players subbing at their positions due to fatigue.

I have 400+ hours of 06 gameplay footage on my YouTube channel that shows this. the game subs out my entire defense at one point or another in a game and any offensive players that get hit a lot sub out as well. It also helps if you adjust the fatigue sliders. Even with those sliders at default, I still see players go in and out consistently due to being tired.

I liked your channel - you have a lot of NCAA games going on. Which one do you say is the best?

06, 90% of my channel and blog covers it.

Im shocked to hear that too as I thought 06 was the only realistic fatigue. Guys would be dying on that field haha. You bring in a back up RB you def saw the difference in speed if the D was still on the field in a long drive.

Do you mean the fatigue ratings? I have the auto sub slider maxed.

Yeah that. I have them maxed too and players will get fatigued throughout the game as you'll notice on the formation screen the dark green player icons change color over time depending on their fatigue.

I used the same forever and lately bumped to 80/85 only because my HBs were tiring but weren't being auto-subbed out quicker like I hoped.

hey vol - i saw your 04 intro video and you kept saying how good the graphics were in 04. i totally agree, i remember how colorful that game was. i don't remember in 06 if they were like that also? were the graphix in 06 better than 04 or was 04 better?

one great thing about the ps2 was the color scheme. all the colors coming off that system were vibrant and bright.

Both look fine but different. Biggest difference is player models, but 04 has a slight framerate issue especially when using the coach cam.
