Dumb Question though:
In the rosters screen, I get the Star by their name means "impact player."

Does the A stand for "All-American"?

What does the little Blue Guy stand for?

Lastly, does a player perform better if he is an Impact Player, an A guy, or a Blue Guy?

I know these are dumb questions but I know someone will know here.

A = All-American
We haven't found how to change these on a roster file yet though

Blue guy = Captain
There is an offensive & defensive captain per team. We can change these.

I don't think they necessarily play better with the with any of these designations but better players tend to be the ones that get them if that makes sense. It's mostly minor visual stuff (Captains go out for the coin toss, Impacts get the Star icon and brought up pre-game as the Impact Players, etc.).

I followed the directions for the XBOX 360 but whenever i try to load the new roster file up "ROSTER-NCAAVIKES21WIP" it keeps telling me that it "appears to be damaged and cannot be used".. i extracted it out of the zip and pasted it directly to the flash drive. Can anybody help me please. Thanks

Hey pinbw,

Just want to say thanks again for all of the hard work you guys do every year to make great rosters! I wanted to see if it would possible to request a few minor changes in terms of the set impact players for a couple of post-spring Big 12 schools on the next merge/update.

Oklahoma:
Change impact player from Pat Fields - FS #10 to Ronnie Perkins - LE #7
(the 3 other impact players for OU look great to me)

Baylor:
Set the below 4 as impact players -
Charlie Brewer - QB #12
Tyquan Thornton - WR #81
Terrel Bernard - MLB #26
Raleigh Taxada - CB #13

Please let me know if this is possible and again a huge thank you to the team for all of the amazing time and work!

The offline xbox360 Procedure can be very challenging & difficult for some. I've already posted links on how to do it. So it may just take a lot of trial and error & minor different ways of doing the steps or using different programs Modio3 vs Modio5, or Horizon (all requiring a Windows PC). It should be possible to use any of them, but some people have better results with one or the other.

Xbox360 file with Modio 3 (I prefer modio3 , but other people have had good results with modio 5).
Open A Save:
USB FLASH DRIVE>Content >E0000XXXX >454109B6 >00000001 > (Your roster Xbox created save 1.44mb file is in this folder--recognize your named file)

*Someone figured out why people may be having problems. If you use 1.36mb file contents replacement method you may
have to create a save file in game on xbox360 with exact name as the intended 1.36mb file contents file and then move that to
USB Flash drive.

*I provided both file types to try both known methods to file transfer.
*Other thoughts for problem causes:
I think there are a lot of people that have this working. But....
-I was wondering if some poeple's Xbox360 consoles is slightly different from another, but I doubt that.
-Or maybe Modio 3 is not working the same on everyone's WindowsPC eg. run program as an administrator; or a antivirus or firewall is preventing Modio from seeing files properly.Unsure??
-Or it could be that some Flash Drives are not compatible-I use an older small 4gb flash drive from 2010, so maybe newer larger flash drives are the problem, so try using a small flash drive from the past.


***TRY METHOD 1 FIRST (1.44mb File FULL SAVE FILE contains roster data inside of it)

Method 1 may be the easiest method using offline files (My full Save File ~ 1.44mb in size)

1. First take a flash drive that is formatted to be used with Xbox360.
2. Plug it into the Xbox360.
3. Turn on the NCAA 14 Game
4. Save your Profile and/or a Roster onto the Flash Drive.
5. Then You can turn off the Xbox and take your Flash Drive to A PC
6. Run Modio 3.0
7. Click on "Open A Save" and browse for your removable disk (USB flash drive)

8. Navigate the menu of your Flash drive:
Content >E0000XXXXXXXX >454109B6 >00000001 > (ALL your roster files are here) eg. ROSTER-XXXXX

9. With Modio 3.0, Open your own profile file or roster file you just saved (from step 4)

AND COPY Down YOUR PROFILE ID# and DEVICE ID# to a text document or word file. ---(Save it for being pasted onto any XB360 offline roster Full save file you find on operation sports.)

10. Then take the NCAA 14 Roster Zip File you found on OS forum, and extract them, or unzip them with windows or with 7zip or winrar program.
And you should see a 1.44mb size eg.ROSTER-XXXX, ROSTER-VIkesfanMod,etc
(if it is smaller at 1.36 mb or 1401kb, then you cannot use METHOD 1.--go with Method 2.)

11. You just have to move this ROSTER file to the same folder that we navigated to in STEP 8 above.

13. Next, Open this 1.44mb ROSTER file with MODIO 3.0 --"open a save" option.

14. THEN COPY AND PASTE
YOUR PROFILE ID# and DEVICE ID# (from STEP 9 Above) onto the Profile ID and Device ID white space in Modio 3.0 program General File Info.

15. Final step is to Click "Rehash and Resign" and a quick beep click sound occurs and it's done!

16. You can take this Flash drive to your Xbox360 and load up the roster file in GAME SETTINGS.
You can move the roster to the hdd or save it again from flash drive file to a new roster file on the Xbox360 hdd storage.

METHOD 2 (alternative method using the file contents file which is 1.36mb in size) -- this is my preferred method to transfer roster save files, since I usually have to import file contents & edit conversions with the editor from PS3 data anyways.

As pinbw said, this is a great video to explain how to work Modio 3. It’s how I learned to edit saved roster files.

What I do is create a new roster save on my Xbox and save it to the usb flash drive. I take the drive and plug it into my computer and open Modio 3.

I then click on “open from a save” in Modio 3 and go to my usb flash drive. From there navigate your way to your saved roster file and open it. A new small Modio screen should pop up.

At the top of the new Modio screen there is a tab for file contents. Go there and right click the file content and click on replace file. From there, go to your extracted roster file and open it. This will replace the saved roster contents with the downloaded roster. After the transfer takes place (usually only takes a few seconds, thought there is no on screen notice of the transfer) you can exit Modio. You can click on the General File Info tab next to the file contents tab and it won’t load until the transfer is finished to be sure that the transfer was completed. You do not need to re-sign or rehash anything, you are finished.

I usually rename my downloaded file the same as what I saved the original roster as on the Xbox, e.g., for 2021 I named my roster “2021”. The file gets saved as ROSTER-2021 and I rename the new downloaded roster file to ROSTER-2021 before transferring it with Modio. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not but I do it just in case and to keep all the files and their corresponding saves organized.

Again, the YouTube video is very clear and shows you how to do everything. The first half of my instructions (navigating Modio 3 to get to save file contents) can be seen step by step from 2:20 to 3:50 of the video. The second part of the instructions (replacing save file data) can be seen at 9:35 to 10:30 of the video. You can ignore everything in the video between 3:50 and 9:35 as it just goes over unrelated matters on how to edit impact players.
