    14 vs 13

So I'm sure everybody knows by now that 14 is currently, roughly $120+ to buy. While, I definitely don't want to pay that, I still want to play NCAA. I was wondering if someone could breakdown, objectively, the main differences between 13 and 14.

I know 14 had the coaching tree, but was that the biggest change? I can't remember what was so different between them.

'14 introduced the Infinity engine, revamped/refined the option plays, and updated playbooks to name a few upgrades over '13.

That's the biggest thing... Infinity Engine 2.0 IMO.

THIS..Infinity engine, also improved locomotion and foot planting, and a easier faster recruiting system. 14 was the year they truly listen to the fans, cause 13 was a joke. 13 It was a straight copy and paste of 12, I remember people being pissed with the lack of improvements they made from 12 to 13 besides the race to hesiman where you play as past hesiman winners, which was a failed mode cause it didn't even make it into 14.

Still the best looking engine ever used for a football game.

14 is definitely better. Is it 10x the price better? I dont know about that.

100% agree! I still find myself looking at replays during games.

This is kinda my reason for this post. With the exception of the cool coaching tree that 14 introduced, is it really $75-100 better than 13?

                  Re: 14 vs 13

I have found 13 to be just fine as I have both. 14 plays a better game of football (in my opinion) and I agree with the comments about the Infinity Engine comments. But if my copy of 14 stopped working I'd be fine with 13.

I even have a 13 dynasty I will play still because I like the recruiting better.

So I would say 13 is fine if you don't want to spend the money.

Heisman Challenge actually was in NCAA 14, it's just hidden in the RTG menu. I actually liked it a bit, but still can't top NCAA 06 Career mode.

Also, I would actually recommend NCAA 12. There's a huge thread about it, and while I don't think that it's better than 14, NCAA 12 costs $15 on Ebay while NCAA 14 costs $125 on Ebay. For sure save the money and buy NCAA 12.

IMO NCAA Football 13 was a huge let down. I actually thought that it would be the last in the series.

                        Re: 14 vs 13

For me, 13 is miles better than 14, and that's for one reason: freezing. I had a PS3 disc of 14, and it froze all the time. So I bought the digital version, thinking it would fix it. Nope.

As for 13, it almost never freezes. In fact, it freezes less than some of the old PS2 games which I used to play non-stop (06).

With 14, it's like 50/50 for me to finish a game without the game freezing. Try doing a dynasty like that. To top it off, the gameplay feels to me like it's exactly the same between 13 and 14.

So, quite obviously, I love 13 and hate 14. But your experience may vary.

Interesting. In 7 years of playing I’ve never had my game freeze once. I’m on Xbox 360 with a hard copy.

You shouldn't wait too long on getting NCAA 13 as its around $20 right now on Amazon used or eBay. They are creeping up to because of how expensive 14 is. I would even pick up 12 if you can find it cheap.

I have 14 for my 360 and just bought off ebay ncaa 13 for both X360 and PS3 for $20 each as backups and to use the ps3 one on the PC with the RPCS3 emulator.

Same. I had slowdown issues before I installed the game to the hard drive, but that's it
