Stop Romanticizing Your Experience with UFC Undisputed

I am very irritated with how EA has handled the UFC series, but, I'm even more irritated with these posts/comments/videos about how great UFC Undisputed was.

Was it fun at times? Yes.

Was it the glorious MMA video game holygrail that people claim it was? Hell no. UFC Undisputed had terrible online support, awful lag issues and mechanics that were just ridiculous (punch-flicking for example).

The game that really showed how great MMA gaming could be was EA MMA. It allowed a party of 8 people to create a fight card and watch/participate in the fights, had great online functionality and even had online fight cards that featured live announcers and could be watched by anyone with the game.

Things should have progressed from the standard set by EA MMA. UFC Undisputed was prettier and had a more flushed out ground game... but EA MMA's overall experience was the best.

Stop romanticizing your experience with EA MMA. It had a lot of problems too.
If you don't want to see any comment and thread about UD3, just pass it.

Undisputed 3 is still the greatest MMA game to date, and nothing has really come close. Also, EA MMA had FAR more problems then Undisputed 3. They're not even in the same ballpark

UFC 3 is still the Undisputed king, but EA UFC 4 could dethrone them in terms of gameplay if they fix the lingering issues we have all been yelling about.

-FIX finish the fight (Ground TKO and Knockouts)
-Throwing hooks while postured down and short elbows instead of that awful uppercut from guard punch in EA.
-Transition during GNP and allow elbow strikes
- Seated cage positions

Stop romanticizing your experience with EA MMA. It had a lot of problems too.
If you don't want to see any comment and thread about UD3, just pass it.

Which ones? I really liked how they went about it. I don't really recall the big issues people had with it anymore.

Parry takedown, parry head kick and parry heel hook were the exploits. I'll take that over punch flicking and submission resets any day. BTW, aside from endless elbows, I also have tons of love for UD 09.

Edit: EA MMA also had a weight class glitch where you could have HW stats in LW. On the surface this seemed like a huge cheat, but you could counter this easily with a change in strategy if you knew what to look for in a fight. Got to a point people would actually be at a disadvantage if they were doing it.

UD3 did so many things well. It's more than nostalgia. Its surprising that there are still things you can do in it that you cant in UFC 4.

I would rather have a functioning online service than have seated cage position.

I mean for F's sake... the second THQ UFC game didn't work online for a week after launch. Every single THQ UFC game had terrible online issues which significantly impacted the experience for me.

Also I just cant forgive THQ for selling the last fighter expansion pack and then shutting down the service (which meant you couldnt use the fighters you just paid for).

I just do not see EA playing that low of a game. Like I said THQ's UFC games could be fun and I played the hell out of them.

None of them matched the quality (with respect to online stability, flow of the fight, fairness, lack of exploits) of EA MMA... none.

I think people forget how bad the online ranked was for UD3. It wasn't even worth playing. I pretty much only did sim matches in unranked. They had normal with CAFs in ranked and some people had 255 ovr CAFs. It was a nightmare. Completely unplayable for a sim experience.

Dude, saying perry headkick was an exploit is like saying leg-check to TD is an exploit in UFC 3. Both are not very well though out mechanics but far from an exploit.

You know what was an exploit? Submission engagement and release for infinity, punch flicking, switch the fighter glitch and the list goes on and on.

This is HUGE!!! People also forgot about the OP CAFs in ranked. It was just insane.
