Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
Are the single and double leg positions against the cage still in UFC 4? I'm talking about the actual positions that are in UFC 3 where you can "hold" your opponent against the cage. I've driven my opponent to the cage and either completed the takedown, or got reversed into over under. I've also just shot near the cage and have gotten the same results. If anyone can please chime in, maybe a dev or someone who knows, or has seen these actual positions in the game I'd very much appreciate it.Tags: None -

I think both are removed. Grappling hud is gone in the clinch, now. I'm missing the system in ea ufc3.Last edited by tissues250; 08-07-2020, 06:46 PM. -

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
Yh idk why they moved these td positions against the cage. That was not a good idea. Those are very common positions against the cage in mma and they should be in the game. When someone shoots and your back is near the fence, those positions should come into play. Why in the world would they move these smh.Last edited by WarMMA; 08-07-2020, 11:36 PM.Comment

Those positions exist in the game as takedown positions. Almost every animation from these positions in UFC 3 is still in the game, plus a few new ones. Including the sub strikes.Comment

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
Except now you seemingly have no way of choosing to go in and out of these positions yourself and instead have to fake/fail a takedown and hope the game puts you where you want to be.
Also they have removed the HUD from all clinch positions as well so you'll have no idea which direction to push either.
One step forwards and two steps back.Comment

That sums up my feelings towards the game perfectly.
Improved clinch but less positions.
Improved customisation, but its mostly fortnite-style garbage.
Improved AI, but offline modes have been neglected other than career mode.Comment

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
So can you still drive an opponent that's near the cage into these positions by just shooting in? I'm not seeing it? Its like either I taken them down or they defend into single under.Comment

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
They have to defend it, at which point the game will auto pull you up for them and you'll enter into the position. It makes absolutely no sense to remove the ability to choose what clinch position to be in of your own accord.
I am just hoping and praying they see sense and give us legacy controls for striking and clinching and allow us to turn off this Tap and Hold system. It doesn't work anywhere near enough to be considered reliable. I can't count the amount of times I've pressed for a body punch and instead shot for a takedown already.
Someone on another thread said it best when they talked about how their efforts to over-simplify the controls have in turn served to do nothing more than actually over-complicate everything to the point where pressing a left kick will bring out a right kick depending on combinations pressed etc.
These choices just baffle me. The game and it's controls needed refinement, not reinvention. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Just improve upon the foundations already built. Don't up-end said foundations just because one small area needed slight adjustments.Comment

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
So it's there? Like we can actually hold someone in a double or single? Just wanna verify lol. Also does it work like UFC 3? The cage TD denies? Or is it based off locomotion nowThey have to defend it, at which point the game will auto pull you up for them and you'll enter into the position. It makes absolutely no sense to remove the ability to choose what clinch position to be in of your own accord.

Re: Question about the single and double leg positions against the cage
It is there, you just cant chose to go into it like you could before. As for the denial/locomotion side I think it is denial based but I am only 99% sure on that one.Comment
