What happens to 2k20 after 2k21 comes out?

posted this on the Myteam board, but there doesn't appear to be much traffic there so gonna try here instead....



Hi, I just bought my first ever NBA2k game a month ago, 2k20. Never played 2k before. Only play offline, no interest in playing with other people. I've been doing MyTeam exclusively and I enjoy it. Not spending any real money though, won't do that.

As you can imagine I've barely cracked the surface of MyTeam since there is so much content.

My plan is to keep playing 2k20 until PS5 comes out and then make the move to 2k21. So with 21 coming out very soon I'm starting to gnawing question in the back of my mind...what happens to 2k20 when 2k21 comes out? Is there still support for the game? Will I still get daily rewards for logging in? Will the auction house still be active?

Or does 2k20 just disappear when 2k21 drops?

There will be support for 2K20 through December of 2021. After that servers are shut off.

Probably rewards will be stopped when new game comes out

It means you can still play it but new content will be for 2k21. If an ugly glitch appears that makes the game cheesy or a by the rules "method" to get badges or vc just a little bit easier instead of grinding like a job appears then it will get a patch.

1. Will we still have access to the old weekly challenges?

2. Will the auction house still be going? Will there be any activity in the auction house?

3. Will I still be able to by packs of cards with tokens and MT?

Yes to all three. 2k19's packs, AH and even challenges are still live as we speak. I'm certain 20 will be no different
