    The Immersion Breakers thread

These are small little things that aren't exactly bugs but they break the immersion by reminding you it's a game. Things like...

Players celebrating a first down by throwing the ball into the stands

Seeing players on the field and then on the sidelines in a cutscene then back on the field in a span of about 3 seconds.

What are some other immersion breakers that you see when playing this game? Bugs don't go here. There's already a place for those.

Players with the avalanche X factor forcing fumbles on almost every hit is absolutely ridiculous.

      On Field:
      • No Referees on the field.
      • Low quality player models on the sidelines.
      • No big kick/punt returns. I don't think I've seen one go for a TD in over a decade.

      Franchise Mode:
      • Trade Logic makes no sense.
      • No 46-man gameday active list.
      • Playing four straight home or away games in a row on the schedule.
      • Every Contract is backloaded.

      Sim Stats:
      • Slot receivers like Cole Beasley leading the NFL in receiving yards.
      • Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, and Kyler Murray not having a ton of rushing yards.
      • Bad QB's like Mitch Trubisky throwing for 4000+ yards, 35 TD's.
      Fan of:
      Buffalo Bills
      NY Yankees

        Re: The Immersion Breakers thread

Can we just create one thread where everyone who has an unhealthy relationship with Madden can go?

There are too many posts and threads like this that literally serve no purpose. If you're not happy with the game, that's fine. Either don't play it, or find a purposeful way to get your voice heard.

Don't clutter up the board for everyone else.

INB4 - 'So just shut up and dribble yeah?' On this board, yes. EA aren't reading your complaints. I am. Go talk to them directly if you have issues with the game that you'd like resolved. We can't help you with that here.

To me, this is probably the most unforgivable immersion breaker. Not just because the Madden team half-fixed the issue last year, only to un-fix it this year, but because the cover athlete is a generational dual-threat talent! How can you disrespect rushing QBs in Franchise stats when you are selling your game with a rushing QB?!?!

I clicked specifically to reply. However, even if I ignored it, posting this thread bumps an actual thread off the bottom of the page that people now might not see, and these kinds of posts often appear in otherwise purposeful threads.

Had my user controlled LB straight up freeze mid-motion in the middle of a play in coverage while the WR broke a tackle and ran into the end zone. Dude basically did the heisman stance in the middle of a play and got stuck. Should have recorded it but it was horrible

Seeing defensive players celebrate after giving up TDs. Offensive players celebrating after turnovers too.

I rarely post and love these threads. Everyone has their own OPINION

Just because devs don't post here much anymore doesn't mean they aren't reading or lurking. Plus there's a lot of things people see that doesn't qualify as a bug or glitch, not exactly an impression, plus it might keep the board cleaner. All these little issues might be a reason someone starts a new thread. Now it gets lumped into one spot.

                      For M21

                      Immersion Enhancers this game has
                      - the pre-game intro; totally gets me psyched to play and sucked-in
                      - watching the CPU call audibles when I nail my play call
                      - seeing the CPU QBs pick me apart in the passing game; forcing me to adjust

                      Immersion breakers
                      - end-game clock management logic
                      - seeing warping animations (though they are much better thus far)
                      - seeing the CPU call 4-verts
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Why are you making me read a thread I don’t want to read on a threaded news group, says a message board poster. Like, I get the substance of your complaint but your actual complaint is far more useless than the uselessness you’re complaining about.

This make me wonder what builds they use when they start working on the new season of the game.

For example by the time that fix was made they were definitely working on Madden 21. So basically whatever build Madden 20 was at when they started 21 those fixes would be in but anything after that would have to be redone on the upcoming games build.

Even while they are working on a new build in 21 they are still fixing things in the old 20 build.

Therefore they fixed the problem on the 20 build, but either forgot or just didn't get around to fixing it on the 21 build if that makes sense.

This has happened in the past when a fix in a previous version is gone in the newer version and it's back to a problem that was there in the past.

It's super annoying and I can't figure out if it's laziness or just really poor communication. In my field I've worked at places where we had problems and lack of communication and think man If I just worked at a better place that wouldn't happen. Then I talk with someone that works at the "better", "higher-end" business than mine and they deal with the same crap, Rushed projects, no budget, poor communication between departments, etc. It comes down to management and the leaders and oftentimes AAA business can suffer from crap you'd think wouldn't happen. Someone is dropping the ball when stuff like this happens.

It's just super weird to me that you'd buy a game, play it frequently, then go on the internet and complain about how much you dislike it.

And EA 100% aren't lurking here lol. They may have done in the past, but times have changed. A multi-million dollar company aren't scouting niche internet forums for feedback about their product.
