How we gonna just sleep on fade routes issues?

Everything that's been going on with Madden I get the outcry but what about fade routes issues that been going on for a decade? Please don't say they can't do it because apf did it perfect.All sports games have flaws but it boggles my mind that Madden is the only sports game with basic fundamental flaws. imagine next Gen with those pretty graphics but you still can't throw a good fade route at the goal line.

I think it was vision cone but it doesn't have to be that complicated. APF lower tier QB can throw a fade route it would be bad accuracy but at least he could attempt the pass

No vision cone was ‘06. In the madden I am referring to there was no vision cone. You could pass lead diagonally down towards the sideline back shoulder was to, and make a back shoulder throw

The fade route the OP is talking about is a bullet back-shoulder throw, or a leading lob fade to like the pylon, I was a little unclear there.

I was talking about both actually and route base passing help that a lot as well.

I'll be honest, on the goal line i'll hot route to a fade a lot of times and throw a Hi/lob pass and i've got some pretty decent animations.

All pro football 2k8 was such a great game. Fade routes were great and if I remember correctly receivers would actually track the ball and adjust on the fly. They didn’t just run to the spot “where the ball was supposed to be”. The QB throwing and pocket animations were great to if I remember correctly.

While I see the obvious differences in the video I loved how he used David Carr versus Joe Montana and says the QB doesn't matter. One of the best combinations of all time and he blows it off like it doesn't matter.

He should have used somebody like Matt Ryan to Julio Jones or multiple hi-rated QB's and show the difference

Sure maybe it doesn't matter but I hate seeing examples like this because to me even if your argument is valid it lessens the impact when the examples aren't really comparable quality players.

I've been very unhappy with Madden this year and posted a few times about it but if you want to show this do a deep dive. Show multiple examples from both games. Does APF make a perfect throw every time with any QB because that's not good either.

To be fair, Derek Carr was an 89 in Madden 18, he was the 8th best QB and a top tier QB in that game.

Smitty provided examples in real time of the 2 games and how each one decided on how to replicate this play. The issue with Madden is that the outcome is determined on a win/loss 2 man animation and not necessarily on player positioning and 2 singular animations playing out on who wins as it does in APF 2K8.

All Pro Football 2k8 "gameplay" will always be the elephant in the room. Madden developers do not have the same passion for football like visual concepts did.
