“Let’s make it so the bottom fighter is unable to move during GnP”

    So....

When you were all sitting around the table at EA headquarters, and that one dude just randomly said this during a meeting...

Why didn’t anybody throw a book at him?

Exactly why I've just shelved this game among many many other reasons.

OWC - One weight class also another reason.

When you constantly run into Bantamweight then Women's flyweight I just don't even bother anymore. No thanks

How many fights do you see this in? How many fights occur where a guy has an open guard and allows the top fighter to posture up and ran strikes down while they are swaying like Stevie Wonder on the ground

Obviously these guys don’t watch mma. The game is a complete mess. Let’s add unblockable clinch lol, what a smart idea Phil.

We couldn't even get cage seated. We couldn't get pride. We can't even pick our own weight class. And to make things even worse they tried to sneak in ads 2 weeks after launch knowing full well what they were doing. I think its best they stick to boxing game. Its the only ine that's legitimately fun out of all their titles

I hate to say this but I've gotten really good at the new crappy mechanics because I have to do it back when someone does it to me.

Can only come to the conclusion that it’s an attempt at reducing the skill gap. Fighters can survive 10 knockdowns but the other could get dropped once and knocked out with ground and pound because they leaned the wrong way.

The silence from the devs speaks volumes. Only thing they made sure to do was add commercials after the review period was over and the outrage actually did something.

Besides that, they don't seem to care since most of you already shelled out your $60. I had a bad feeling about the game since gpd said he was leaving and the beta reaffirmed my skepticism on the game.

Im starting to think they won't bother fixing it like they did with 3. Just look at some of the messages saying they don't care about the "pitchforks" or whatever.

The fact that they removed the option to manually transition during ground and pound is absolutely absurd. I don't understand how anybody can defend this garbage can of a game. Sick of this arcadey crap.

You can transition once bottom fighter gains grapple advantage

Imo it is a poor design and completely counter intuitive to how grappling works in MMA.

Posturing up comes with the risk of losing control irl. In the game you can posture up and you’re given MORE control in addition to threatening GnP. You have less control when postured down because the bottom fighter can transition freely. It’s the reason GnP doesnt have proper balance and likely never will.

I love how the reasoning for the clinch changes was that people hated this part of the game where they felt out of the control and then they make this GnP minigame where you have no choice but to play along.

Honestly with the faster ground and pound it can work pretty well if they went back to a manual system.

Timing would be key, if you take "X" amount of damage it cancels your transition attempt, the more strikes you sway, block, or post will speed up your transition attempt. Swaying and posting would increase it much more than blocking, giving players incentive to sway and post.
