Re: Fifa 21 career mode talk
I played 5 seasons with them in '19. It was a fun league. I followed transfer rules and team structure and won the league back to back in my final 2 years by slim margins.
Learning more about them recently though they are a bit of a controversial side for a few reasons. The traditional big clubs don't like them challenging for titles. Also they seemed to be backed by the government and Turkeys controversial president.
------------
As for me I'm interested in a south american club seeing as how they've adjusted transfers maybe there won't be an influx of European players anymore plus the have the big continental cups now. Maybe do something in the Dutch league.Last edited by jrnlgrn; 09-10-2020, 01:10 PM."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win." -

If you want to go really obscure you could do the Romanian league. I haven't seen much attention paid to them. Could be a good underdog story if you make a deep run in European competitions."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Fifa 21 career mode talk
I stuck with Mainz in the Bundesliga for three seasons in 20. Thinking this year might be the time to go with Arsenal, which I typically avoid despite/because they're my club. I was able to get hired by them going into season 3 of my 20 CM but the squad was such a mess I said no thanks. They bought aging Busquets for crying out loud!
Pros:- It could be fun to jump into it without dithering over who to be and simply role-play Arteta.
- The squad has some promising young players to develop, fingers crossed for more real faces. There's plenty of dead wood to clear out, which of course is much easier in FIFA than IRL (unfortunately)
- Haven't played an EPL career in ages, plus a realistic chance to play in the Champions League (quiet, KG) which I haven't done in career since EA acquired the license.
Cons:- Wanting to "keep it real" for a team I follow so closely. I'm pretty good about not exploiting the game. I use GTN for scouting, not SoFIFA, try to avoid ripping off AI teams or not giving raises even if player would likley accept. This is more about play style, transfer targets, and decoupling from what the real Arsenal is doing so I can enjoy my own little world.
- Worried not many new cyberfaces will be added due to COVID and the generics are very hit or miss. Wouldn't be as much fun to build up Saka, Martinelli, Willock, Nelson, Gabriel and Saliba if they all look like humanoids.
- In the past, the higher ratings of the EPL could make for less enjoyable gameplay but it's too early to know and I feel this has improved at least somewhat (sliders help too, of course).

Re: Fifa 21 career mode talk
I'd go:
West Ham, Motherwell, Turkgucu Munchen
For the journeyman career will the game let you make the jump in that way. I know the game is weird about what leagues you can switch to as a manager."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment

Re: Fifa 21 career mode talk
Thinking I've landed on at least a couple of teams for a CM this year:
Swansea - I read an article on the Athletic with the manager and his enthusiasm came through.
FC Utrecht - Never been relegated from the Eredivisie but have never one it either."Listen son, you only have enough runs when you’re showering after a win."Comment
