When are we getting the MLB The Show 21 Next-Gen trailer?

When might we see a next-gen trailer for MLB The Show 21?

2k released one for 2k21 yesterday and now I’m DYING to see what MLB The Show will look like.

This entire forum is going to be buzzing when it drops. I’m beyond excited to see it.

    Probably not until around December/January
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

From here on out I wont be downloading any patches until I check in with the OS community first. I am fully expecting them to put the trailer in the game on the in park big screens for the next game. I just really hate that nonsense.

Hate to be the party pooper, but I doubt we'll see much of a change between generations.

Between coronavirus, the added pressures of going multiplatform, and their usual need to add things to the game, I doubt the next gen version will add much over higher frame rates.

If anything is added, I expect it will be ray tracing. Ray tracing really can punch up the wow factor, but if you were expecting a more fundamental graphical change you're going to be disappointed.

I know they've hired more people, but more isn't always better. It takes time and effort to integrate new staff into a company. Probably doubly so under current conditions.

Also they are developing for another platform. Not that I don't think they can handle it. But it is certainly going to effect next years game with all that is going on. There are so many legacy issues and I actually expect them to explode in the next year or so as they try to change the core of the game to work on another platform. I would not be surprised if next years game takes a step back in overall quality. I don't mean that in any bashing way. I just don't see how in the current conditions that progress could be made that would be substantial.

I really wish they would start from scratch with a new engine. But I don't think that would be possible either with all of the Beer Bug stuff going on.

I definitely don’t expect the game to take a step back. That would be a really bad look for Sony. I could see a minor or very little improvement but not a step back. If they take a step back just to go multi-platform people would never forget that.

                    Well I disagree with you.

Just like 2K has done with NBA2k21 I expect MLB The Show for next gen to be built from the ground up too

Maybe. But they have taken more features out than they have added lately. I think the trend will continue. The game play may be just as good, hopefully, but I don't think the quality will be there for the first year. Just my .001 cents.

The title of this thread should be edited, ending with a "?" at the very least.

Tried adding it but I think a mod has to do a it. I actually meant to add it from the start.

I’ll be very disappointed if the next gen game isn’t a good step up. 2K set the bar for what next gen sports games should look like. Let’s see what Sony’s own studio can do.

dunno if I can wait till Dec./Jan./Feb., hope to see some Show 20 on ps5 video gameplay on YouTube next month. I know that won't be anything like Show 21 on ps5 but maybe that will hold me till Dec./Jan./Feb.
