      TNK - SLIDER TESTING

      Game #1 of Testing
Boston Bruins @ Detroit Red Wings

      1st Period
No scoring in the period and the shots were 13-12 in favor of Boston

      2nd Period
The Red Wings scored an early PP goal from Fabbri but the Bruins would answer with a goal when Bergeron forced a turnover along the boards off an offensive zone faceoff, took the puck behind the net and attempted a wrap around the was denied but Pastrnak would gather the rebound and score to tie the game 1-1. The Red Wings would get a late goal from Zadina and Detroit had a 2-1 lead after two periods with the shots 24-23 in favor of Detroit

      3rd Period
The teams were skating 4 on 4 early in the 3rd period and Boston would tie the score when Jeremy Lauzon rushed the puck up the ice and into the offensive zone and fired a cross ice pass to Bergeron for the game tying goal. The game remained tied until the Red Wings were on the PP and Grzelcyk coughed up the puck in the neutral zone leading to a 2 on 0 rush for Detroit and Larkin set up Tyler Bertuzzi for the go ahead goal making it 3-2 with 8:33 to play. Boston would get a PP chance with just over 6:00 remaining but they were unable to score and we moved to the final minutes with the Red Wings leading 3-2. The Bruins would get the trying goal from their 4th line as Nick Ritchie laid a huge hit near the benches leading and Boston was able to transition the puck into the offensive zone where Ritchie played the puck back to Carlo who went D to D to Vaakanainen who fired a shot that was tipped past Bernier by Chris Wagner to tie the game 3-3 with 3:24 remaining. The 3rd period would end sending the game to overtime with the score tied 3-3 and the shots 38-33 in favor of Boston after 60 minutes

      OT Period
The Red Wings would win it just 1:00 into OT when Pastrnak coughed up the puck in the neutral zone and Dylan Larkin would race in on a breakaway and beat Rask on the backhand to give Detroit a 4-3 victory

      * I like the way the game feels overall, this is a nice starting point for the sliders. This is only game #1 of testing and there will certainly be changes....but this is an encouraging start

        TNK - SLIDER TESTING

        Game #2 of Testing
        Boston Bruins @ Philadelphia Flyers

        1st Period
The first 10 minutes of the game were evenly played before Philadelphia tilted the ice in the late stages of the period and had a number of quality chances, but Tuukka Rask was outstanding in the Boston net and the 1st period would end with the score tied 0-0
        SHOTS - Philadelphia 17 / Boston 10

        2nd Period
The Flyers opened the scoring early in the 2nd period when they capitalized on a turnover and Kevin Hayes would finish off a feed from Konecny to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead. The Bruins had a 5 on 3 PP midway through the period and the Bruins would have great pressure but Krejci would ring the post and Carter Hart made some tough saves to keep it a 1-0 game. Boston thought they had the game tying goal when Patrice Bergeron redirected a shot past Hart but his stick was above the crossbar and the goal was waived off. The Bruins were controlling play and eventually tied the score late in the period when Craig Smith came into the offensive zone and hit Charlie Coyle streaking to the far post to tie the game up 1-1
        SHOTS - Philadelphia 24 / Boston 23

        3rd Period
The Flyers failed to convert on an early PP opportunity and the score remained tied 1-1. The game would enter the final 10 minutes of regulation and the Flyers would go on the PP with just over 7:00 to play when Nick Ritchie was called for slashing. Boston would get a big effort from their penalty killers to keep the game tied 1-1 heading into the final 5:00 of regulation. The Bruins 4th line would snap the tie on a great play by Chris Wagner as they transitioned the puck nicely up the ice with crisp passes and Wagner would make a nice move to get the puck through a defender and found Sean Kuraly with a nice back door pass for the go ahead goal giving the Bruins a 2-1 lead with 2:33 remaining. The Flyers would get Hart to the bench in the final minute but Jake Debrusk would put the game away with an empty net goal finishing off a 3-1 Bruins victory
        SHOTS - Philadelphia 34 / Boston 37

        HIGHLIGHTS
Bergeron PP goal is waived off for tipping it with a high stick
        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0hhNjaiGXiY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Craig Smith sets up Charlie Coyle for a goal to tie the game 1-1....watch Coyle skate his butt off to support Smith on the rush and get rewarded for streaking to the far post
        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/X2RgHDRq4do" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Great work by the Bruins 4th line as they exit their own zone with clean passes and Wagner makes a quick little shifty deke to get by Provorov and find Kuraly back door for the game winning goal that gave Boston a 2-1 lead with 2:33 to play
        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/2sWHAuHCzFM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The Bruins do a good job to clamp down and protect the lead before Jake Debrusk scores the empty net goal to finish off the 3-1 win for Boston
        <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/u9KovLnA3ik" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

          TNK - SLIDER TESTING

          Game #3 of Testing
          Boston Bruins @ Montreal Canadiens

          1st Period
The Bruins were on a powerplay but they were sloppy with the puck trying to exit their own end which led to a turnover and the Canadiens opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal from Arturi Lehkonen with just over 5:00 left in the period. Boston would answer with 1:00 left in the period when Connor Clifton joined the rush and finished off a feed from Wagner to tie the game 1-1. The Canadiens went on the PP when Kuraly took a tripping penalty with 0:12 left in the period and Marchand failed to clear the zone off the ensuing faceoff as Kulak kept the puck in at the blue line and Nick Suzuki would score with 0:01 remaining to give Montreal a PP goal and a 2-1 lead after one period
          SHOTS - Montreal 11 / Boston 15

          2nd Period
The Bruins went on the PP early in the 2nd period and showed great patience as they worked the puck around and Patrice Bergeron would redirect a Vaakanainen shot past Price to tie the score at 2-2. The score remained tied until late in the period when Montreal would get the puck in deep and Suzuki would come out of a board battle behind the net with the puck and find Josh Anderson in front for the goal to give the Canadiens a 3-2 lead
          SHOTS - Montreal 23 / Boston 28

          <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/tfB9FNdDHmY" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

          3rd Period
The Bruins came out buzzing to start the 3rd period and both Marchand and Studnicka hit posts with shots in the early going. The score remained 3-2 until midway through the period when Tatar chased down a loose puck in the neutral zone to create an odd man rush and Arturi Lehkonen would finish off a feed from Tatar for his 2nd goal of the game giving Montreal a 4-2 lead with 10:57 remaining. The Bruins would go on a crucial PP with 8:40 remaining but they failed to convert despite some good looks as Carey Price made several key saves to keep it a 4-2 game as the clock would wind down the final 5:00 of regulation. The Bruins continued to apply heavy pressure and would make it a one goal game when Jack Studnicka got the puck in the slot and fired a wrist shot past Price to cut the deficit to 4-3 with 2:25 remaining setting the stage for what should be an exciting finish to this game. The comeback was short lived as the Canadiens answered with 2:00 to play when Josh Anderson collected a loose puck and tucked it past Rask to put the game away fro Montreal who would go on to beat the Bruins 5-3
          SHOTS - Montreal 37 / Boston 42

Hey man, really liking your gameplay! Question: do you find your star players/1st liners feel a lot better than your bottom line guys? I feel like I always want to up the attribute effect sliders, but I'm wondering if that causes more harm than good. I want player seperation to matter, but if the overall gameplay is worse because of it, than it might not be worth it! Thanks!

Yeah, my top players have enough separation from the average players to feel like stars

I may mess with the attribute setting, but right now things feel ok

                TNK - SLIDER TESTING

                Game #4 of Testing
Boston Bruins @ Vegas Golden Knights

                1st Period
The Bruins controlled play for much of the 1st period but Robin Lehner was strong in the Vegas net and the 1st period would end with no scoring and the teams would go to the 1st intermission tied 0-0
                SHOTS - Boston 9 / Vegas 5

                2nd Period
The game remained scoreless as both teams were playing well defensively and limiting the scoring chances until late in the period when Boston was unable to exit their zone cleanly and Vegas took advantage as Nosek had a scoring chance that was stopped by Rask but Nick Holden was able to score on the rebound and give the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead with 1:31 left in the period.
                SHOTS - Boston 16 / Vegas 18
                <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H0TviQXNIxw" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                3rd Period
The Golden Knights came out buzzing to start the 3rd period and Chandler Stephenson score to make it 2-0 when he came out of the corner and snuck a shot past Rask short side with 17:59 remaining. The Bruins would finally get on the board on a great individual effort by Sean Kuraly who took a pass from Carlo exiting the defensive zone and Kuraly would turn on the jets to split the defense and score with a quick wrist shot that broke through Lehner for a huge goal pulling Boston within a goal and making it 2-1 with 11:48 remaining. The Bruins had momentum after the Kuraly goal and were controlling with Vegas in survival mode clinging to a 2-1 lead as the clock ticked down under 5:00 to play in regulation. The Bruins would get Rask off for the extra attacker in the final minute and had some good looks but Lehner would come up big and the Golden Knights hang on for the victory as the Bruins lose a tough 2-1 battle
                SHOTS - Boston 31 / Vegas 30

Thanks for the reply! I see you have lowered shooting values compared to what I usually rock with AE up at 8/10 so maybe that's where the differentiation comes in. I'll have to experiment more for AE at 5/10. Game just seems to play a little better the closer it is to default.

Posting an update to post #1 of the thread with a few subtle tweaks I made

The game last night Boston @ Vegas was played using the updated sliders which will be in post #1 in just a few minutes

I will keep posting video highlights for now as well....I feel like the box scores and stats prove that the sliders produce good results, but the videos allow you to see the cosmetic side, the flow of the game, speed of plays unfolding, etc

                      TNK - SLIDER TESTING

                      Game #5 of Testing
                      Boston Bruins @ Chicago Blackhawkss

                      1st Period
The Bruins would strike first midway through the 1st period when they broke the puck out clean and came up ice with speed and Kase would take a feed from Chara and slide the puck over to Debrusk for a beautiful goal giving Boston a 1-0 lead. The teams played well defensively and limited the scoring chances as the 1st period came to an end with the Bruins leading 1-0
                      SHOTS - Boston 6 / Chicago 8
                      <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/mvQ_1SJ0FNM" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>

                      2nd Period
The Bruins extended their lead early in the period when Krejci started the rush up ice and Debrusk would take the puck towards the net before sliding a perfect pass across the slot to Kase who beat Subban to give Boston a 2-0 lead. The Blackhawks had some good stretches of play where they were able to generate quality scoring chances in the middle stages of the period but Rask was sharp in the Boston net and the score remained 2-0. Chicago would go on the PP with 4:13 left in the period. Craig Smith would get called for slashing with 2:41 remaining in the period to set up an abbreviated 5 on 3 advantage for the Blackhawks. Chicago had some chances on the PP but were unable to capitalize as Rask made a huge stop to deny DeBrincat who walked in all alone. The Bruins would return to even strength and the period would end with Boston leading 2-0
                      SHOTS - Boston 22 / Chicago 19

                      3rd Period
The Blackhawks came out flying to begin the 3rd period as they trailed 2-0 and Chicago would draw a penalty as Kase was sent to the box for tripping and Chicago would go on the PP with 14:31 remaining. The Bruins PK unit did a good job to kill off the penalty to Kase and return to even strength as we approached the midway point of the period and the clock would tick down under 10:00 to play in regulation. Jeremy Lauzon was called for slashing putting Chicago back on the PP with 7:46 remaining and the Blackhawks needed just 5 seconds to score off a clean faceoff win as DeBrincat slid the puck to Jonathan Toews who took a quick shot on his backhand that beat Rask to cut the Bruins lead to 2-1 with 7:41 left to play. The stage was set for what should be an exciting finish and Chicago suddenly had the momentum and were carrying the play as the clock wound down to the final minutes with Boston clinging to a 2-1 lead. The Blackhawks were swarming the Boston net and Rask was able to freeze the puck with 1:27 remaining and Boston would use their timeout to try and calm things down. Chicago would get Subban to the bench for the extra attacker with just under 1:00 to play but Kase would score an empty net goal for his 2nd goal of the night to seal the deal on a 3-1 Bruins victory

This is good to see. Everything I have read makes it seem like this game is trash, and your sliders and games seem like it’s a good game of hockey. I am a big hockey guy and will be picking this up, I was on the fence but you pushed me over it!

Wow, 10 for slashing, I have most of my slider settings up to 60 or even higher, get mostly tripping calls with a few holding calls sprinkled in, just trying to get variety of calls if i can. Not sure if higher is better or not?

The slower you make the game, the better it plays imo. That's the problem with the default online meta.
