Will next-gen 2K21 have a better way to do head scans??

I read that the MYCAREER portion from Xbox One will not carry over to Xbox Series X/S so I plan to start my career over once I get my Xbox Series X.

My question, if anyone knows, will the headscan to get your head/face into the game be any different?

I usually get my head scan into the game after about 25-30 attempts but this year I tried about 100 times and never could get it so I just gave up.

Has anyone read anything about how this might work on the new consoles??

I have tried to use the head scan for the past four years, and I can never get it right.

I think selfie camera in your devices plays a part. I realized I always had phones with poor self cameras over the last several years. Plus, it's always frustrating with 2ks face scan system where you need perfect head movement. I plan on getting a new cell phone with a better selfie camera, so I hope that helps.

I wonder if that MyNBA2k app will stay the same for next gen. It's pretty much has been a copy and paste for the entire gen. I still feel NBA Live 18's face scan app was the best for me. I remember being satisfied with my first scan and just being nit picky after that. I would like them to adopt the WWE 2k method or just upload mutliple head shots and have the system create the scan

I'm still waiting for custom arena sounds. OS had all the stadium sounds set up. We need next gen to bring it back.

yea, man, L*ve might not have had the texture right... but 2k really gets some horror shots. I've tried a bunch until it became annoying. Sometimes it seems like I have tumors in my jaw, sometimes my eyes are too closed looking. Two times I got decent face scans but there was a shadow (I assume) line across my mouth. It was like yea that's kinda hardcore but nah.

True some cams are trash but I've tried w/ an iphone 11 as well to test. One thing I can say is that building faces stuff is SO MUCH FASTER on iphone. The end result is mostly the same tho. My faces are purple and everything, have to change it in skin tone.

Did live have you move the cam or your head? I forgot. I got long-ish hair so I gotta get that out of the way, do the scan, redo the scan until it gets right, upload it, see how trashy it looks, then be like AUGH and in the end I'm just using a pre made. On PC, it doesn't really matter, I guess.

Being able to get a face a different way would be nice. I realize it wants to really capture your jaw line, but it seems really hard to get that done right. Maybe you need like direct sunlight. haha. I never really planned to scan my face into a game, in the end I came around. I can live without it, tho, if it stays this trashy.

People like smoove prol had their friends scan his face with a good rear cam.

Maybe but I do have an iPhone X myself. In the past I used my self facing camera which is not what they advise but this year I actually had someone use the back side camera which is better and we still couldn't get it right!

I'd just be happy if they just allow us to use the previous years and not do it again each year!!

I got the PS camera just for the face scan for 2k15 snd 2k16. That was a waste of money and time. I remember spending a hour or so just trying to get a decent scan. It's not as bad now. You might get lucky and get a good scan within first couple scans. But other times, you need perfect circumstances. Good lighting, good consistent head movements, keeping your eyes open and steady.

Live 18 required head movement I believe. But it wasn't to the extent to what 2k is. Live was quicker and well and I had a crappy selfie camera. So 2k probably has a poor fscr scan processing system. It has been virtually the same sense 2k17 as the MyNBA2k hasn't changed since then. I would have to imagine they change the app for next gen.

Yeah it's probably the face scan processing system. I don't know why they can't just save the Face scan to your account. Its frustrating when you get that good scan one year then the next year you can't replicate that scan. Like I said, the MyNBA2k app has virtually been the same since 2k18 or 2k17. So instead of releasing a new MyNBA2k app yearly that doesn't get any spotlight anyway, they should just update the app yearly. That way, the face scan stays on that MyNBA2k app account

the app on my phone worked great for 20 and 19, I used the same bathroom near my TV - all white walls, lighting directly above the mirror - overall fairly bright but I didn't stand too close to the mirror to avoid 'hot spots'

I laughed so hard in the earlier versions some of the stuff people had it was like a horror film!

Man I remember how much better this made the game. Literally wouldn't play without custom chants and authentic defense crowd noises. We need this back asap.

its amazing that we had that , basically at the beginning of all this with the original Xbox. It so simple , yet so awesome to put your sounds in there. I think I took that for granted
