    Re: AEW Games

Obviously the Yukes console game news is great. We can nitpick the footage all day but really the game might
Look nothing similar to that once it’s released. Bottom line is we’re getting a new Yukes wrestling game with the director of No Mercy involved.

Not really interested in the Casino game at all.

The GM game seems like a AEW version of games like 80 Mania Wrestling and Modern Mania Wrestling. No doubt there are difference but I’ll be honest I’m not as excited for this as I would be for some type of Supercard type game. I will give her a spin when she comes out though.

      RE: Console

      *FIrst Glance*

Those Blocky, Bulky, WWE All_Stars models aren't my speed.

Cool that they hired someone that worked on Virtual Pro / No Mercy

Kenny mentioned they want their game to be FUN, so I have to assume they will compromise realism there. I prefer a realistic experience.

But either way, it is a "Wait and See" for me.

      Glad there is competition.

Looks like they're going the arcade route. Been waiting for this a long time but now I'm disappointed with the arcade approach.

I was surprised at the WWE All-Stars aesthetic, but I'm really excited for Yukes teaming up with AEW. One thing I was also encouraged by was that they're apparently aiming for a bi-annual schedule a la UFC rather than the nine-month WWE dev cycle. Getting double the time to work on the games should benefit all parties involved.

Also interesting they put over a heavy intergender component with Shida kicking Kenny's ***, long after WWE mandated its removal from their TV product and games.

I hope I can wrestle as Orange Cassidy with my hands in my pockets

Also, for all the nods towards No Mercy and VPW2, I wouldn't be surprised if it does take more of an arcade-y approach, not like WWE All-Stars, but something like Here Comes the Pain. A fast-paced game would slot well with AEW's style of 100mph matches from most of its roster; it wouldn't exactly be true to, say, Lucha Bros vs Private Party if it took you five seconds to pull off a successful grapple

Men aren't allowed to hit women but women ARE allowed to slap the hell out of men on WWE programming.

But very progressive move from Kenny, you expect that from AEW.

While the game looks somewhat arcade-ish. Looking at the moves done seems realistic to me. There were no light trails or flashing screens or fire or any other crap like that.

I can get past the weird graphics if it still plays an authentic game of wrestling.

That was my takeaway as well, and I'll be more than OK if it's the route they continue to go with the game.

They may have arcade mode in it but considering Kenny is a fan for RPGs, I can see them later down the line of development adding it to the game.

The way it looked is no mercy with todays graphics basically
