    Championship fights in ranked

It's really bugging me that 5 round fights are only available at really high divisions in ranked. It makes zero sense to have 3 round fights just because people are at a lower rank. It's stupid, and it takes away a lot of the fun from the game for me. 5 round fights were my favourite part of playing ranked in UFC 3. It feels like there's much more strategy involved when you fight 5 rounds, and you have to be more careful with stamina.

Sucks that they've taken out such a big part of MMA for the vast majority of ranked players.

You're not allowed them if you're not in the top 1/10 of the players

Heaven forbid you have an achievement and get a title shot - no were not even allowed a different cut scene and rule set

    A pathetic decision.

Wait is it really like this?

I haven't had a title defense (where it said as tale of the tape screen it was a title fight) go longer than 3 rounds so I don't know if there a 4th and 5th.

I'm div 6 right now but last season hovered around div 10 on average reaching as high as 14 at one point.

So when you get the belt are all of your fights title defense fights? Or only some? I never know when I'm in a title fight or not haha how do I know if it's a title or a regular?

Also, if it is a title fight is it 5 rounds or still 3? If it's only 5 rounds for higher ranked players (which is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard) at what rank does that start?

You know a UFC game is botched when you cant even figure out if you're having title fights and if they are gonna be 3 round or 5 because obviously if you know you're going into a 5 round fight you'e going to play slower to conserve stamina in case it goes to the 4th or 5th round. So it's an important thing people should know...

God the disaster of this game never ceases to amaze me. A 15 year old UFC fan who watched some youtube videos on video game design could have made a better game. What an absolute joke.

So 5 round fights in ranked? Are they in or not?

5 rounds happen when it's div 15 and up playing each other. So you have a group of people who have nothing but 5 round fights, and a group that never has them. It's really stupid.

                That one dev, here!

Nope. No idea why this was done.

Not saying there isn't a reason, but I'm not privy to what it might have been, and no obvious ones come to mind.

Update! I asked the powers that be:

"It came from some feedback...namely that lower level players didn't like 5 round matches and higher level players preferred it because it made stamina management more important. additionally, there was an added benefit that it was less confusing and you don't have to constantly check to see whether it's a 3 or 5 round fight"

Thanks for inquiring about that. Definitely don't agree with the decision at all. It's way more confusing. There are contender and title match labels along with a giant belt on the main ranked match lobby with zero correlation to whether it's 5 rds or 3.

3 games and you guys decide to make this change all of a sudden ? I don’t ever remember hearing a single complaint. Along with not being able to choose weight class lmao.

LOL, just get rid of the confusion entirely and also remove rounds.

I assume the reason for one weight class per hour in ranked is for less playerbase split?

Well it did the complete opposite because all I see is the same people in women’s bantamweight ranked

                              I suspected as much.

I understand the decision, despite vehemently disagreeing with it. I'd at least request that it be changed to division 10+ or something rather than 15+

I don't get why it's any less confusing to have 3 rounds fights though. During the fight, you can see at all times how many rounds there are and which round you are currently in. Sounds more like dumb players being unable to use common sense than the game actually being confusing.

5 rounds are a very important part of MMA. All title fights and main events in the UFC are 5 rounds. Reducing them to 3 rounds just because some low level players don't like having to manage stamina, is stupid imo. You may as well just remove grappling altogether since most low level players also hate grappling. I guess you could start applying this same criteria to most parts of the game. Suddenly you'd be left with a game that doesn't represent MMA or the UFC very well at all.
