Motion Interpolation: Nba 2k21 next gen at 120 fps!

I know for a fact this thread is going to get haters on this. People say, oh it adds so much lag or it's not real frames. Truth be told, the frames are real but depending on your tv, you may or may not be adding noticeable input lag. Regardless, I have a samsung q80t and playing 2k at frames higher than 60 fps is NIGHT and DAY VS a locked 60 fps.

I would suggest to try it if you have a newer model tv because the input lag added is not noticeable at all and I'm a competitive online player.

This also works for COD cold war too.

The tv adds frames, the video game does not. Look up how it works.

If you go to game mode settings, there is tab called game motion plus settings and it will be there.

The more you increase the blur affect, the higher the frames will be added up to the maximum amount of frames your panel can handle. For example, if you a tv that can handle 120 fps and you're playing a 60 fps game, it will increase frames up to 120 fps.

It's really a game changer in my opinion though because if you cut it off, I can't really unsee the judder. Only downside is that it does input lag but this tv has really good input lag so I don't notice it all.

Dude, the OP clearly stated (twice now) that the tv is creating the frames.

I have the Q95T and can confirm it does up games to 120fps, with caveats.

It can create some visible ghosting in some games, particularly around moving characters. Whether you think the trade off is worth the extra smoothness (as well as a slightly increased input delay) is up to you.

It's certainly surreal seeing games like 2K run at 120fps.

Why do you need 120fps in a sports game? 60fps is more than enough. I doubt 120fps, added by the TV, is "night and day".

Does the sony x900h have these features? Anyone knows?

So your tv adds fake frames to make it fake 120hz at the cost of input lag.

So technically you’re still playing at 60 frames per second.

Eh... It's not worth it if it's not true 120fps. You want that higher framerate mainly for responsiveness. Otherwise it's just a waste. It was cool for the first few hours or so. But I just ended up turning it off. Hopefully 2K22 runs in native 120fps.

Came for the video, man. haha.

I was gonna hold judgment until then, but I guess there is no vid. Sadface.

TBH, I still have a hard time believing those games can run at solid 60 in 4k. That's just such a high bar. I think they might need some time (like next year's version) to optimize.

edit re 120 for next year: you can get 120 if you wanna play in 1440p, maybe, but 4k unless they really cut out the fx, is gonna be really, really insane even on a really simple game. Like I said in the PC forum, I have a 2070S and I can't run 2k21 current gen at 4k ultra, staying over 60 the whole time.

It really is a huge difference. I’ve been using 144 on PC for years on fifa. But honestly you don’t notice a big difference going from 60-144 but do notice the difference going back down from 144-60

Op is right. I been doing this the last few years with 2k offline and single player games. I dont know about the 120 stuff but when I turn motionflow on and crank it up to high its a mega smooth more realistic looking game. You guys know the soap opera effect right. It does that to video games. Wouldnt recommend going online with it though.

Things like this are for offline players only. lol

For online this is a huge headache. Every millisecond counts for online so any kind of input lag is a big no. Hell most online players are turning off the sound of the game to further reduce input lag or fps drops.
