Next gen weather ?!

I have always wanted awesome weather effects. They were better in the ps2 era! Field degradation, dirty jerseys!

What?!


Next gen madden features list had weather written about everywhere. I’m watching these streams and the rain and snow not only look the same as current gen but just look terrible.

I don’t see any real snow effects or realistic footprints even which was on ps2! And the rain same thing. I haven’t seen a spec of dirt on the jerseys of any players or any dirt degradation on the field.

This is a blatant misrepresentation from EA regarding next gen weather.

Madden devs team are absolutely terrible for current gen and next gen : ps4, xbox one, PS5 and Xbox Series X.. They used to have great devs in past years for ps2 on Madden 2001 through 2007

To be fair, devs did say that the weather wasn't going to affect anything on the field. They said it would be the same as current gen as far as how it affects gameplay.

Even with gameplay affects aside, it looks awful in Madden. The field cover is the same as current gen. The snowflakes may look different but that's about it. They way oversold this. FIFA snow on the ground looks way more realistic.

I agree. snow in fifa looks way better i am VERY surprised the same snow has been used for madden next gen

I’m talking the graphics and weather effects. They look so bad on next gen and they specifically talked about how much better next gen weather was going to LOOK.

Gotcha, I misunderstood what you meant. That sucks that it doesn't look any better. I guess I shall see with my own two eyes once it finishes downloading this morning

Who is surprised that EA lies? They have been doing it for over 10 years now and they will continue to get away with it having the NFL exclusive license. I can't think of another developer team that lies to our faces like the Madden team. Only the license has saved their a**.

I truly don't believe they have the talent to get the job done. They continue to make excuses. Until EA fires the lot, and either has the FIFA team take over the game or hire those with the talent of the FIFA team, nothing will improve. But why should EA fire this unperforming talent, they are cheap, and EA continues to make MUT money hand over fist. They have no incentive to improve.

Players definitely get dirty and with greater detail than current gen from what I've seen from the footage. I did expect it to look closer to the Tom Brady screen but, it is what it is. I definitely say his mud spots and grass stains on the jerseys that aren't in the last gen game.

i wish 2k or Sony San Diego studio take NFL license to make NFL game to have competition against EA.. EA need stop being greedy.. 2k are great at making deeper Franchise Mode with full customizations

I don't have the game so can't comment firsthand about the weather but the scenes in the snow with the snow on the field look terrible. In fact, the field looks just like current gen which I already thought looked bad. Can anyone comment on if the weather changes? Or is it just constant all game like current gen? Also....any progressive lighting?

I agree with the snow... but it's just what i'm seeing on videos as well. Some dude in one of the forums said snow looks great so i'm curious what that means. Must being seeing something we're not in the game vs the youtube videos.
