nba 2k21 next gen - mynba can't call plays?

Not sure if I'm in a bugged mynba but I can't call any plays, dpad, nothing comes up. I go to playnow, can call plays with dpad just fine, went to my other mynba saved files and can do it there as well. Just the current mynba save file I'm in, dpad does nothing, any ideas?

edit: it seems like coach morale setting affects this, can someone confirm? I want to be able to keep morale on in the settings, at what level of morale can you still call plays?

You didn't delete all the plays from your playbook or something weird like that, right?

nah nothing crazy like that. I did testing and seen that when I turn off morale and/or trust in settings, it came back up. So guessing the dpad plays and this are connected

Yeah, seems that way. I do not know the exact morale rating that triggers it.

its tied to the RPG elements with trust and morale. You have to have a great or excellent relationship with your head coach which is over 90%

You can achieve this by selecting "chit chat" with your head coach and can be done fairly quickly if you focus on that relationship first. Just make sure you select "chit chat with staff" as your first skill in the skills tree.

If you go into the relationships setting in MyNBA you can scroll through each member of your staff and see what each relationship does and what you need to achieve. Good is 70-79 Great is 80-89 and excellent is 90-99.

Turn trust off. You don't have any gameplan options or in game adjustments when you have trust on. Trust is basically trusting your assistant coaches to handle all of that.

Not true.

Trust is a system that means you need to have trust in your head coach to allow you to call plays and do substitutions. You have to chit chat with the head coach until you have over 90% trust to be able to call plays or do substitutions.
