    A new Football Coach RPG

    Hey everyone,

I made a post earlier this year on how to edit rosters in NFL Head Coach 06 and have a post about it somewhere on here. While making the updated rosters for the the 2020-2021 season for Head Coach I thought why doesnt someone try to make a new coaching game, so thats what I've attempted to do.

A few months ago I learned all I can about the Unreal Engine programming language and I have a video of what I came up with. I wanted to show you guys first. Cause ya'll love these games just as much as I do.

Let me know what you think, again plenty to be worked on and I'm only a few months in (sorry for the voiceacting), but would you play a game like this?

Also modeled the office after a certain coach.

Im truly amazed by this. Great work. If you could find a way to use 09s engine, I'd gladly pay 50+ for it. This is very intriguing, can you post some actual on field gameplay of this? The QB AI was the main reason I switched to the 09 version, but really felt the 06 version had a realer "coach" feel.

I'll be following every step of this game development, and I'll do my best to promote it. Make us all proud!
NFL Head Coach 09 had a "Play Steal" feature.

CPU teams stole your successful plays in your playbook and added them to their playbooks. That feature met with college playbooks from incoming college coaches and user created plays birthed a new meta evolution for playcallers across the NFL.

          Sure thanks everybody.

          My Patreon account is https://www.patreon.com/bigblue80

As of this month I have two jobs because of the craziness going on so I work on this at night. One day I'll get it to a point where this is all I work on, so I welcome any small donations to make this game great.
I will make us proud and give football fans a true football game to look forward to.

Your influence will be included! If you have an idea for the game leave it in the comments, you are talking with the man making it and I will see what works best with the vision. I may not be able to put them all in there but it's a game for us so I will see what I can do! A FUN football RPG is the basic phrase I'm going for. FUN and FOOTBALL.

Next video I look to get out by March 2021 with more features and this time commentary of the plan for the future.

Pregame locker room meetings, halftime meetings, post game press conference...

And most importantly, make this game hard. incredibly hard. Way too hard. Ridiculously hard. I wanna earn a winning season, and I shouldn't be able to make the playoffs with a lower tier team in my first season. Super bowls should be just what they are, extremely rare for most franchises.

Make this game stupid hard. Nearly impossible.

TheButter I love your thinking very nice my friend.

Yes, presentation is a goal in itself. Each part of the game is a different piece, and I would love to flesh out presentation. The next video I put up will hopefully scratch the itch a bit but this is still very much in development.

In terms of difficulty I completely agree. One of the points is to make sure you can get fired and have to hope for another opportunity elsewhere. If not, could be game over for you.

Great feedback though I'll be sure to keep This OS post posted on updates.

It would be cool if you didn't just simulate the experience of a head coach but being able to work your way up from an assistant to coordinator and finally head coach would be a dream game.

I like it. Idea was originally moving up from Scout to Head Coach. Lately been focusing on the Head coach experience but I agree with you it would be a great experience.

I'm curious how you are planning the league. 32 team like the nfl or something different being that it is more RPG based so you only deal with "x" number of teams vs sandboxy like a madden

ToastandToaster, I'd like to make them close in how many teams and which cities have them. The number of teams at this point can change but I'm trying to go with about how many teams there are now in the NFL.

I would say the future is really promising and playing with others would be a great way to play the game. The comment I'll make is the developmental focus right now is on the single-player RPG portion of the game. Playing with others has definitely been something I've thought about, but right now the focus is on single-player.

I will say one of my favorite features of other games was having fantasy drafts locally and with other players online. I wouldn't rule this out, I just don't have any news on online leagues right now.

I've got a suggestion, idk how likely this would be but what if each teams strength and conditioning coach has his own individual programming that would lead to strength, speed, and body fat percentage?

Each team would have their own approach on lifting weights with their own philosophies and it would impact the game.

Also a question, how will practice work?
