    Remember...A Tennessee Titans Retro Franchise (Madden 06 - PS2)

I'm not going to lie to you all. At first, I really enjoyed playing Madden 21. I know it has it's issues, and I know that the vast majority of people disagree with my feelings, but it's not an awful game.

However, every year, I end up getting tired of the current Madden game, and now it's started to get to the point where I'm kind of just going through the motions when playing the game. With that being said, I've been playing Madden 06 on my Playstation 2 a ton on stream lately, and I've had a ton of fun playing the game. It brings back old memories from when Madden, while not perfect, was still enjoyable year round.

I've decided that I'm having so much fun playing the game, that I am going to start a throwback franchise with my favorite team, the Tennessee Titans. I am going to be using base rosters, and I will be rebuilding the team my own way.

I will be creating an NCAA Football 06 series on here as well, and those draft classes will feed into this series.

And now, let's get started... #TitanUp

To be honest, I publicly picked the Titans to win the game, but I had a bad feeling to be honest. The Titans secondary has been garbage all season, so the expectation that they'd even be able to slow down Aaron Rodgers was a little unfair in retrospect.

Titans hold off second-half surge, beat Steelers 17-10

Coming off of a 5-11 season in 2004, the Tennessee Titans got a big statement victory in Week one of the 2005 season, defeating the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-10 at Heinz Field.

Titans quarterback Steve McNair passed for 299 yards and two touchdown passes, both to wide receiver Drew Bennett, who finished with 93 yards on seven receptions.

The Titans held a 17-0 halftime lead, and it looked like it was going to get ugly, but then the Steelers, who were held to 26 yards of total offense in the first half, started fighting back in the second half. Unfortunately, it was too little too late.

Ben Roethlisberger threw for 82 yards and two interceptions on 10-of-17 passing, and really just struggled to get anything going through the air.

Jerome Bettis finished with 64 yards on 13 carries after being held to 13 yards on seven carries in the first half. However, it was Duce Staley who got the lone touchdown for the Steelers with about five minutes left in the game to make it 17-10.

However, the Titans would eventually run the final five minutes of the clock out, earning 44 yards and converting four first downs in the final 14 plays to seal the victory.

The Titans will host the Baltimore Ravens in their home opener next week, while the Steelers look to bounce back as they head to Houston to battle the Texans.

Special teams miscues doom Titans comeback bid as Ravens prevail, 26-20 in OT

The Tennessee Titans comeback bid fell just short due to poor execution on special teams.

Steve McNair found Courtney Roby for a four-yard touchdown pass to tie the game at 20, but then kicker Ola Kimrin would shank the extra point attempt, sending the game to overtime.

After the Titans won the overtime coin toss, they would eventually be forced to punt, but it would be a shank by punter Craig Hentrich, opening up an opportunity for the Ravens to get the victory, and they did just that, as Jamal Lewis rushed for a 33-yard game winner to help the Ravens survive, 26-20, in overtime.

On a more positive note, Adam "Pacman" Jones recorded his first interception of his NFL career in the first quarter.

Titans release struggling kicker Kimrin; re-sign future HOFer Anderson

The Tennessee Titans have released kicker Ola Kimrin. Kimrin missed a crucial extra point this past Sunday that would have given the Titans the lead with :09 remaining, and overall has has massed 3 over his four field goal attempts.

The Titans have re-signed 22-year veteran kicker Gary Anderson to replace Kimrin. Anderson played for the Titans the past two seasons, going 27/31 in 2003 and 17/22 in 2004.

BREAKING: Titans trade disgruntled QB Volek to the Browns for WR Northcutt, draft picks

The Tennessee Titans have traded backup quarterback Billy Volek to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for WR Dennis Northcutt and their fourth and fifth round picks in the 2006 NFL Draft.

Volek was reportedly disgruntled with remaining the backup to starting QB Steve McNair, and requested to be traded. The Browns did not feel comfortable with current starter Trent Dilfer, and were willing to deal Northcutt to the Titans along with the draft picks for Volek.

Northcutt saw his role dwindle with the Browns having drafted Braylon Edwards in this past April's draft, and only had 4 receptions for 57 yards.

With the Titans having struggled to find a solid receiving option across from Drew Bennett, they are hoping Northcutt will be the solution.

In order to fill the void left by Volek, the Titans signed former Cowboys QB Quincy Carter to a one-year deal worth $2.12M with a $350k bonus.

Bulger throws for over 400 yards as Rams rout Titans in Super Bowl XXXIV rematch

The Tennessee Titans came into Week 3 looking to avenge their Super Bowl XXXIV loss to the St. Louis Rams

Instead, they were battered by the high-powered offense known as "The Greatest Show on Turf".

Marc Bulger threw for 458 yards and four touchdowns, and Torry Holt brought in 178 yards and three touchdowns, as the Rams cruised by the Titans, 44-14.

Steve McNair had a horrible game, passing for 234 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. He was sacked eight times in the game, another huge indictment on this offensive line that gave up a lot of sacks last week against the Ravens.

Chris Brown rushed for 42 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, his best game of the short season.
