Your go to games besides MLB The Show?

I pretty much play The Show full time. Spend some time on No Mans Sky and then sprinkle in the other odd games that I almost never stick with( recently tried Metal Gear Solid V, and hated it).

What other games do you all try out and how much do you enjoy them?

I've been dabbling in Madden, but MLBTS is really all I play. Madden (even though much better) is still to arcade for me. Even on Sim, no matter sliders and setting, it's just to arcade for me to enjoy.

The thing I love about the show is, no stupid interactions to screw with gameplay. I think that's where Madden screwed things up.

Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
    CFB 25 The absolute GOAT!!!
MLB 23 FOREVER 20 is better, 23 just for Guardians
Madden get rid of the extras (SS/XF, HFA, media, scenarios, game plan) or turn them down considerably.

I've been spending the past few months catching up on some of my PS4 backlog of games. Played through Days Gone, COD Advanced Warfare, COD Infinite Warfare, Rage 2, Far Cry 5, and now finishing up Marvel's Spider Man. Planning to start Horizon Zero Dawn next, and then maybe get into RDR2 after that.

Basically, I'm trying to catch up on these games during this winter before MLBTS21 drops, bc that's the game series I spend most time with throughout the year. I'm planning on (hopefully I'm able to find one by TS21 release) buying a PS5 for 21.

Besides The Show20? I play OOTP and SuperMegaBaseball3 and MLB The Show 14. I think I might have a problem.

Actually just kidding. Yes I play all of those but I have been playing No Mans Sky. Valkyria Chronicles and thinking about maybe Persona 5. I have just recently discovered JRPG's. Believe it or not I have gamed since before there were games to play and I have never played Final Fantasy or anything of the sort. Its a whole new world.

Nascar Heat 4, Ncaaf 14 and Skyrim. don't really play other games as much as I used to since my son got married and moved out. really, the Show is all I need at this point, though if there were a new ncaaf and ncaabb I'd be on it like a fat kid on a cookie

Get on that RDR2. You won’t be disappointed.

NCAA'14 and The Show are the sports games I play year round. I have a 2K My League I spend some time with, but haven't played that in quite a while.

Outside of that I pretty much just work through my backlog of games spanning generations. Right now working on Assassin's Creed (the original) and Final Fantasy VII Remake. Usually I have 1 or 2 games outside of the sports world I play regularly.

This. 100 percent this. I enjoy Madden but it is extremely flawed.

I have a home collection of games that are on my “No Trade-In” List. This includes at least two sports games, which are always MLB The Show and right now Madden.

I never keep the four Batman Arkham games too far, the two Spider-Man games, Uncharted 4, The Last of Us 1, Dying Light, Watchdogs 1, and some PS3 classics like Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1/2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

Re: Your go to games besides MLB The Show?

I mostly play The Show and The Hunter: Call of the Wild, which is a simulation-style hunting game with vast, beautiful terrain to explore. It actually makes me want to learn hunting in real life.

I probably play 2-4 hours of those a week altogether.

I also dabble in the F1 games, but I'm a terrible racer; I'm always rear-ending the AI cars because I'm not good at judging when to brake while in a pack. Still pretty fun though, and makes me appreciate watching real F1 more.

Actually, now that I think about it, the mark of a great video game is one that makes you interested in the real-world version of whatever the game is based on. I also find that if you play a game that's based on something you're not familiar with, you don't notice things they didn't get quite right since you don't know any better. I remember picking up Fifa 06 back in college on a whim and I basically learned how soccer was played from that game. Still enjoy the sport to this day. Except now I see all the glaring faults of FIFA and PES, lol.

I also loved Red Dead Redemption about 6-8 years back and bought RDR 2 when it came out but still have yet to play it like three years later. I want to but never do.

Re: Your go to games besides MLB The Show?

Obviously, like the majority of you folks, the Show takes up the majority of my (now dwindling, as I get older) gaming time, however:

-I just picked up NHL 21 on sale before Christmas, and I've actually (quite surprisingly) been enjoying it.

-RDR2 is going to stay in my library for a long, long time. It's such a great game. I've played through it a couple of times, and find new things every time I plug it in. It's the type of game that I've got to have multiple hours to get into though. I'll likely fire it back up the next time we get a big blizzard or something.

-Far Cry 5 (And 4 for that matter). Just a great series that's over the top (But not too over the top, if you know what I mean?). Pretty disappointed that 6 has been delayed.

-NBA 2K. Sometimes I just get a hankering for a franchise mode where you can essentially control EVERYTHING (If the show had the type of depth in franchise mode that NBA does, it'd be the only game I would ever play...gimme that expansion mode!). I never get too invested into it, but I'll binge-play for a week or two every few months.

I wish I had the time that I used to have for gaming, because I'd love to play the past couple of Assassin's creed game (Valhalla looks outstanding), Last of Us 2 (Loved the first one), and Microsoft Flight Simulator (Ohhhh, to have a CPU that could handle that game...).

Hunt showdown, escape from Tarkov, phasmophobia, among us and call of duty. I’ve recently gotten back into the show because my Padres are making moves and I want to use the new guys. I have nhl, played a lot when it came out but stopped. Starting to get the hockey itch again now that the season is closer to starting and I’ve been watching the world juniors.

Usually I play this, Madden and 2k.

Getting ps5, I have been playing Ghosts and Sackboy a bit of late. Some Apex thrown in. But MLB always has most of my time. I've been taking a break from it the last month or so, but starting to get the itch to come back.

I tend to hit up Madden and FIFA every year since I pick them up for Christmas. Lately, I’ve been on iRacing nightly racing MX-5s.

The NFL is my first, second and third love. Too bad there isn't a good game that represents their product.

100% MLBtS for me right now. Unbelievable on the PS5, even the older versions.

Really enjoyed RDR2, it had a good 6 month run. Cant stand the online shenanigans, or it may still be in the rotation.

Need to give the Samurai game a whirl. Especially on the PS5.

I guess if Show 21 gets a mid-April to May release (talking ps4 here) I'll finally upgrade from NASCAR Heat 4 to 5 sometime after the Super Bowl and somewhere around Speedweeks in early February.
plus my reentry into Show 14 several months back is still going strong. the only thing 14 is really missing for me is editable contracts, classic stadiums plus 1 or 2 other minor annoyances, like a bare-bones limited Sounds of the Show, Eric Karros (I actually like what they did w/Steve Lyons here) and those dead hollow zombie eyes that didn't get fixed until 17. plus as it's online is decommissioned I'm not bombarded by a parade of clever lies from DD
