lol Madden NFL 21 was awful.. come on EA.. don't be lazy.. just overhaul simulation engine in franchise mode for make players stats look accurate and realistic like real life for Madden NFL 22

Can't roll my eyes enough.  Even at $19.99 I'm not enticed to buy this game.  I can only hope the NCAA game that's coming is truly built from the ground up with the right foundation conducive to a true football experience instead of a "shared" Frostbite development.

I realize game unit sales are not as important as they used to be, but this screams of poor sales to date. Every Black Friday the price would drop to $25 for a week and then go back to $60, or at least $50. It was $30 for a long time and now it's $20. The most recent Madden was NEVER $20.

Like the post above, even at $20 I'm not really tempted to purchase. I have a PS5, but I'd rather just stick with PS4 version M20.

Should be in the EA Play vault soon (within the next week or so, typically), remains to be seen how the new console releases may have impacted that pattern. I don't expect it will.

This is exactly why my excitement for the new college game was much lower than most people. NCAA 14 moved to the same engine that Madden was on and EA has forced Frostbite on so many of their products that it’s hard to imagine the game not being a near copy of Madden. Especially with the college and pro games sharing more similarities than they used to. It’s a shame because so many areas of the game needs to be completely reworked. Pass coverage has gotten miles ahead of where it’s been but still needs common sense stuff put in (like defenders not leaving their man in a zone 5 seconds after the snap). The run game is as bad as I’ve ever seen. Blocking schemes are an unrealistic mess (I remember NCAA 11/12 promoting realistic blocking schemes and they were excellent in that regard). So much line shifting and warping on the D-Line that it takes shifting and crashing completely out of the equation. Just a list of things that have been wrong for several years now. I just see NCAA it falling into the same pit that Madden has fallen into.

I held off on getting Madden. Once I saw the price drop, I got it. After several seasons and numerous improvements, I'd still rather play NCAA 14.

Madden does several things significantly better than NCAA 14 did, especially on defense. Pass coverage is a million times better. Gap play and run fits are present (NCAA 14 had players just hitting blockers head up), size and weight play somewhat of a factor whereas in 14 anyone could truck or big hit anybody. Option defense is better, you don’t have AI defenders running past the QB who pulled the ball three seconds ago. Really the only thing NCAA does better is run blocking. If the line play of Madden were to improve, the game would really be on its way to being special.

This is why I’m so concerned with the new NCAA. Everyone keeps saying “make it like NCAA 14” when that game was definitely not as good as what we are getting now.
