A NEW ERA
NCAA INTRODUCES RELEGATION SYSTEM TO THE LEAGUE
2020.
A year that was pretty terrible for most people in real life. Fortunately in this virtual world of fantasy football, it will go down as one of the most interesting and fun seasons in the 151 year history of college football.
2020 will introduce a brand new relegation system to the sport. At the end of each season, teams will be put under review. The team with the worst record in each Power 5 conference will be relegated, and the division winner of each Group of 5 conference will be promoted. Once promoted or relegated, that team must stay in their division for at least 3 seasons. This helps avoid too much back and forth movement. If no team qualifies for promotion then there will be no movement that offseason.
The New Look Conferences of College Football
Not only have the rules changed, but the landscape has changed drastically as well. The conferences have been realigned to feature a more geographical approach, with each conference introducing at least one new member this season. Here are the new and improved conferences for the 2020 season.
