    scripted game outcomes

I realize this may not be news at this point. Im on ps5 and I've noticed this issue even back to my ps4 days. I'm realizing at the end of close games that the team with the better record gets a boost from the system and cannot miss shots, whereas the opposing team goes cold. Its as if the computer has already decided who will win the game. Any feedback is appreciated

I have noticed this as well. I noticed that on next gen my offense is highly handicapped. Cannot drive the lane, open jump shots not falling. The CPU hitting contested shots repeatedly. Now this may have been an issue on on the last gen, but to me it is a glaring issue on next gen.

With all the badges and streaks combining it seems likely some teams do have a literal boost in those clutch situations. I think their superior record is the effect of that though rather than the cause.

I’ve played about five full 58 game seasons + playoffs. I’ve had blowouts my way, blowouts against me, close game wins and close game losses. Can’t say I’ve seen any scripting.

Well i take it that the team with the better record is better then the team with the lesser record.

So its seems pretty logical to me.

From like 2k16-2k19 or so on the Xbox one I would always notice how the cpu would drastically make comebacks and increase their shooting percentage in the 4th quarter. Me and a buddy of mine would call it "4th quarter bull****"

Haven't seen it the last two years especially on next gen. It's nice to not deal with anymore

If you haven't noticed, there are "clutch" badges that does increase 4th quarter performances, plus you have to take in consideration the "tireless" badges for some players.

I'm on PS5 too, 2K needs to fix the 2nd qtr.

                  Can't buy a bucket.

The game is really scripted in the 2nd and 4th qtrs.

Dude, since you are too bad in a game, 2k doesnt need to "fix" anything, you should just step up your game.

Badges, hot streaks, cold streaks, chemistry, morale. The game also tries to mimic runs and the ebb and flow of real life games.

When this happens naturally it makes sense. In a video game it can seem scripted.

It doesnt bother me and I've learned to use suggestions from other people like calling time outs etc.... but I can see how someone might feel like they are getting shafted.

I know comeback-AI or scripted outcomes have been one of the most divided issues on these forums over the years. In my experience, it is very noticeable on All-Madden difficulty and a much lesser extent on higher difficulties on The Show.

For 2K next-gen, I have not noticed this being an issue yet. The recent 2Ks I would witness the CPU go on these incredible 4th quarter runs nearly every time they trailed in the game against me, but I don’t feel it in this years version.

Since we play on different systems (and probably on different modes) and 2k is too stupid to implement crossplay this game has to wait.

But seriously, I don´t think that this game is scripted in any way. Having bad shooting nights or stupid ai teammates are part of the game (unfortunately).

When we play 5vs5 in our league we experience "momentum swings" a lot, but this is denied by 2k since years as well.

I think one of the biggest things that plays into this is, besides biggest advantage being home arena, the momentum.

Personally, I've made enough come from behind wins and stood tough and defended enough shots that saved the game.

But it's definitely got a more noticeable presence.

I've wondered though, take a good squad that has lost a few in a row, it's usually a tough game because they're hungry for a win. This isn't 100% of the time but no longer can I just dismiss doing my scouting because I'm at home playing some team on a 3 game skid.
