Awesome post. Very well-described things I noticed but couldn't exactly put a finger on. I do feel like Madden has properly evolved with AI and player movement patterns.

However, the one thing (in my opinion) that keeps me playing NCAA 14 instead of the new Maddens is the freedom of movement. Pretty sure this is a product of the engine and visuals that come with it but I just do not feel that in control of my players as I do on NCAA. Simply, I feel like Madden is a game of pressing buttons where as NCAA is a game of using the sticks. Now, I know that the stick-use freedom of NCAA produces some unrealistic movements but I feel like that is the sacrifice needed to give a player the feeling that they're in control.
