    Just put a generic team in it's place and call it Terre Haute University. As long as we have the ability to edit, we can do the rest.

      Almost gives the impression that they only want to participate if the athletes are allowed in the game given the AD's quote.

      Hopefully group licensing is allowed so we won't have to find out, but it will be interesting to see what they choose to do should it be randomly generated rosters.

      My dynasty won't be as authentic if they aren't there being severely overrated and getting beaten down in big games.

        I'm ok with this too if we can edit.

          I agree with you. I will buy the game as long as there are 130 teams regardless if they are real or fictitious. 126 or less may keep me in College Football Revamped until EA puts out a game with all FBS teams.

              That would be okay but I honestly wouldn't miss them. It's their choice not to be in the game.

                I actually see this as a good thing. Notre Dame is a major player in college athletics. I hope it puts major pressure on the NCAA as a whole to just get NIL settled once and for all. I dont mind generic/random players one bit, but it is ridiculous how even at this point there is no real guidance from the NCAA. The NCAA was supposed to release something last month on NIL and punted again.

                  I think it's inevitable the NIL is going to pass. Any states that choose not to are going to leave their schools at a huge disadvantage recruiting wise. This is also I think the major reason EA is bringing this game back to begin with. I don't think they have any intentions of having generic rosters by the release.

                    I agree. With Florida's NIL bill going in effect on July 1, and other states following states, an national NIL bill is likely. I would have to imagine there is an upcoming Congress-NCAA event soon. Almost have to get a national NIL bill agreed on relatively soon with Florida's going into effect in July. Florida schools will have a big a recruiting advantage soon.

                    I imagine by end of year there will be a national NIL bill in effect and hopefully it includes group licensing. I'd imagine most schools will be on board as as long as fear of ligation is reduced

                      Game most likely isn't coming out until 2023 at the earliest (just my personal guess) so there is no point in worrying about this whatsoever (if anyone is). Still plenty of time for any school with this stance to be included.

                      Honestly, them saying this now, weeks after the early reveal, tells me that they're so confident NIL is going to pass that this is just a good PR move with no downside.

                        They get to act like they're making some big sacrifice then the NIL stuff passes this year as is scheduled and ND can then sign on after their "hard" stand.

                          I'm drawing a line at 100 teams (provided that hundred includes all the Power 5 schools minus the Irish. it's their loss, not mine.)

                            Tulane, Northwestern and Fresno State have made similar announcements.

                              I propose four fictional schools of higher learning to replace those applying an overabundance of caution:
                              * Four Lane Red Wave
                              * Westnorthern Wilddogs
