What are your plans for 21?

ok with less than one month until the launch of our favorite game, it is time to think about our plans for this year's game.

My plans are as follows

Since there is no more carryover going forward (hoping it will come back in 22). I will have to start a new franchise as many of us carry over fans will. I will be having to choose a new team to play with.

As an Oakland A's fan, my heart wants to run with the real-life team and see how I can do with them.

I do have other teams I am willing to play with. those teams are as follows

San Diego

Pittsburgh

Washington

Miami

Each of these teams come with their own pros and cons of course with default launch rosters.

I will be looking over each team's roster and probably playing at least one game with each to get a feel for each.

There are a lot of factors that will go into my team's choice of course.

once I determine the team and if I like the rosters or not I will then decide to go with a real-life team or fantasy drafted team.

then I will have to draft each team then figure out which one I want to use depending on how each draft for each team looks best.

So I will have a very long weekend once the game is released...

I played with the Jays on 20 and would prefer a NL team this year. I’d like a team that can contend but is not stacked.

I’d rather stay away from any rebuilds.

I'm trying to think of a "contending" team in the NL that ISN'T stacked. Reds come to mind, Arizona maybe, Marlins maybe not a true contender but a good young team with a solid pitching staff.

Any more, I like fictional players. I like when MiLB Options, Rule 5, Service Time, etc... matter for every player. Yes, Bacon's roster is awesome for that (and I've played it on '20), however I'll be simming 20-ish years so that every pertinent player is game-generated. From there, I'll pick a middle of the road team to user control and take off trying to mold them to my liking.

Franchise with the Atlanta Braves...collision course with the Los Angeles Dodgers. That's the focus!

Usually am the Cubs every other year, so I don't wear myself out. I usually get close to 10+ seasons in an iteration with playing 40ish games a season.

I try to alternate and pick an AL team so I can see the AL stadiums that I never really get too.

With the stadium creator and how in-depth it seems I really am thinking of being the A's. I want a semi-competitive team, that isn't completely loaded with prospects. I am leaning toward the A's unless anyone else has a better idea!

Question. I'm an xbox guy, and part of the 2k community here at OS. I'm seeing that The Show will be available for xbox owners this year.

Can someone confirm this. I saw The Show trailer and saw an xbox logo as a system

1) gonna checkout the Class-A rosters, see if they're full, or just full of it.

2) checkout the Orioles starting pitching rotation, figure out if I'm gonna need to sign a pitcher from the free agents before spring training starts

3) checkout the free agents, see if there's anyone like last year as good as Puig or Scooter was

4) play an Orioles friendly exhibition Play Now against the World Champion Dodgers, see how well I stack up against the best team money can buy

5) repeat 4 but with the Atlanta Base Ball Team, 3 games against the second best teams money can buy: Padres Mets & Phillies

Depends on if rosters transfer over if they do I'm open for anything if they don't then first thing I'll do is wait for the price drop and continue playing my franchise in '20 that's in its 3rd year.

I'm a former Franchise guy, now a heavy Diamond Dynasty guy, so I've gotten a lot of enjoyment out of March To October. I can't wait to see what this year's Team Affinity rewards are. Last year I did so many with a lot of different teams, I know I'll do the same this year. Hopefully the rosters look pretty good out of the box so I don't have to do too much editing for my main White Sox Franchise, too.

With just under two weeks to go (for those of us that pre-ordered), I have narrowed my view down to two teams. They stand right now at Oakland, and Miami.

At this moment I will be leaning toward playing with default rosters and not doing fantasy draft for whichever team I end up choosing.


So that is where I find myself with what time we have left before the launch of 21'.


Whatever team I choose I'm praying to toe the gods that SDS will reintroduce Y2Y saves in 22 so that I can continue this journey far into the future!
