EA better start working on a simulation mode!
Why are there still so many knock downs in matches? Why doesn’t the new or 2nd Gameplay Developer interact with people on this forum? Esports Boxing Club is going to be so much more realistic. Why can’t EA make a simulation mode? Why has this never been done? EA should do this before Esports Boxing Club comes out.Tags: None -

I'm super excited about ESBC but it will have ZERO effect on how EA designs its games. If anything, if ESBC is a success, EA will attempt to buy the franchise and make it into a new Fight Night. Why are there still so many knock downs in matches? Damn, that's not what I expected. I thought if ESBC did well it would force ea into making the UFC games better. I didnt consider they would buy them and make it into a new fn, seems obvious in hindsight now tho.
I can only hope if that does happen they keep their approach similar. It seems a lot of great ideas they are using like the adrenaline system came from feedback on the UFC games (idk if the adrenaline system predates that, first time I saw it it was here by a gc). If those things do well maybe they could make their way to the ufc games.
The least they could do is make sim/arcade toggles, would appease many complaints.Comment

They already did try and they got turned down. The ESBC devs commented on it.Comment

Re: EA better start working on a simulation mode!
That doesnt mean much though. I seriously doubt EA offered big money for a title that is in Alpha. If anything EA made an offer to keep them off the market.
If the game becomes a success (and I hope it is), I expect a number of companies to step up and try to acquire it. EA has one of the biggest pockets and would likely offer alot. I seriously doubt that the devs of ESBC are so committed to "simulation boxing" and independence that they would turn down a huge offer.
To the OP's point, even if they turned EA down, EA's next move wouldnt be to make UFC or a potential Fight Night more sim. They likely would just pour a ton of money into making a boxing game that appeals to casuals and a roster with bigger names (They already have Fury and Joshua signed). ****, we dont even know if the boxers signed to ESBC are exclusive so they could license their likenesses to EA too.
This isnt an "or" situation. ESBC could be great and be a sim fans dream but that wont make EA change their approach. Alot of us are going to play and like ESBC and still buy UFC 5 even if it still appeals to casuals.Comment

Re: EA better start working on a simulation mode!
Does that mean a sim mode likely won’t happen for UFC 5? It seems like a sim approach across the board won’t ever happen, but what’s wrong with a sim toggle (or at least a sim preset for sliders for quick fight)? That doesnt mean much though. I seriously doubt EA offered big money for a title that is in Alpha. If anything EA made an offer to keep them off the market.

Re: EA better start working on a simulation mode!
I have no idea what is going to happen with UFC 5 just like I had no idea about the plans for UFC 4 until a few months before.
In the past, I've heard them kick around the idea for sliders for quick fights so thats possible one day but as we all know, the focus of this series isnt to authentically simulate MMA in the way that people here want.Comment

I think a sim preset for sliders in quick fight (or just a toggle w/o online sliders) would work, lots of ppl complain about stamina and what not and want a realistic exp online. I guess ea doesnt care about bad reviews if the game makes money... but imo good press and word of mouth could lead to more ppl picking up the game, especially if it caters to both casuals and hardcore and theres something for everyone.
I genuinely think ea made a mistake not making a complete boxing mode for ufc 4.
e: What are the chances ea makes a boxing mode in ufc 5 to compete with ESBC?Last edited by johnmangala; 04-04-2021, 08:28 PM.Comment

I dont know if its ever been proven that good consumer (Youtube/Metacritic) reviews help sell licensed AAA sports titles. I'm not saying that EA doesnt care about bad website reviews (they absolutely do) but 4 is almost tied for the best professional review score in the history of the series. Even EA Sports games with bad reviews still sell alot of copies each year.Fair enough.

I have no idea about FNC. I heard some rumors from people I know who know things years ago but nothing ever came of it. I know the devs love the series (2 of the top devs there were heavily involved with FNC) but who knows if they want to go that route.
I think all this **** is ridiculous though. People can love ESBC and what they are potentially doing without ****ting on UFC. I'm so excited about the roster, the foot movement, the CAF options and fighter share but that doesnt mean I wont be excited when I start hearing UFC 5 news.Comment

Ok, if word of mouth and what doesnt matter too much for aaa sports games idk what will make them feel sim settings can be beneficial for growing the game. I can only hope they test it out and go from there.I dont know if its ever been proven that good consumer (Youtube/Metacritic) reviews help sell licensed AAA sports titles. Would be nice too see, the ufc games dont have to start from scratch gameplay wise for a dedicated boxing mode other than the ring maybe. The foundation is already there. I dont know esbc has a vulnerability system, or would have as deep a clinch system at their first attempt.
Idk this forum is dead, most the ****ting on the ufc games I see is on discord and reddit. I'm pretty excited to hear about ufc 5 news, I would be more excited if they announced they are adding those things you mentioned tho. I'm pretty sure you would too? I would still buy the game without them but I definitely would be happier if they were in. The only thing above those for me is TBS and it seems the devs are open to that so they do listen.Comment

Re: EA better start working on a simulation mode!
I have a fun hypothetical. Neither are likely but...
What's more likely?
Floyd Mayweather appearing in UFC 5 or ESBC?

LMAO, sorry but you literally talk so much BS bro. Just because your were gamechanger does not mean your smart alec opnions are needed on every post critizing EA, infact i'm starting to think all the gamechangers are shills but you my friend are the most irritating by far.
You essentially have zero evidence to point to anything saying that the developers or directors with full certainty wont be open to changing its game design if they see that ESB is doing massivley well due to the simulation based approach. Also the fact that its going to be avaiable through Steam gives it already a massive advantage over EA titles.
Show us actual evidence if you want to prove people wrong instead of making stupid sweeping statments/assumptions like that.Last edited by ab541; 04-05-2021, 10:24 AM.Comment

The evidence is in EA's history of making games (I cant think of a single "hardcore sim" game they have ever made) and the fact that I've had 5 yrs of discussions with UFC devs about the direction of the game.
Whats wild is that I actually complemented ESBC and said I'm excited about it but people here are so desperate to make this **** a competition. Its pathetic but what else is new.Comment

UFC5. ESBC has 200 plus boxers and I dont believe it could afford all of them if they had to shell out and pay Floyd.Comment
