No night games in created stadiums

I've tried multiple created stadiums, both in exhibition and franchise, and every single one has been bright blue skies, no matter what time of day or cloud cover it's set to. Hopefully something that can be addressed in a patch, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

They said that there would be no night games for created stadiums this year, they hope to implement it next year so daytime only for now

This is kind of a kick in the nuts. I mean day games look great, but I don't wanna play 162 of them. This isn't the pre-90s Cubs.

Man, I was excited for this feature, and thought well hey, this is worth paying to get it early and get a head start on my franchise. Now I'm kinda feeling gipped.

I'm hoping this may be something they can patch, but it's probably something with the code that won't allow it due to lighting or something like that.

Kinda wish I just waited for game pass. But that's no ones fault but my own really. I should have waited for impressions tonight.

Exactly was no mention of having to play all day games in created stadiums 😡 We now know why they never showed the next gen version cause there literally is not much difference 😡 Also the sound of the ball hitting the bat is way off this year not very loud at all sounds like a gun shooting a BB to me 😡

A friend of mine said the same thing! I’ve only played a few innings without sound but the bat sound was perfect last year! The crack off the bat of a perfect perfect swing was so satisfying why change it?!

Wow, this is really an intentional thing and not a bug? That’s a total immersion breaker for franchise players. Unless maybe you’re a sim heavy player anyway, who wants to use a created stadium in their franchise if it turns all your home games into day games? Hard to believe this could be real.

Between this which ruins Stadium Creator for franchise mode, the loss of Y2Y Saves, no more SOTS, blocking people on Twitter for just asking questions, etc, the launch of MLB 21 has just been one big slap in the face to offline franchise players.

Fine with it for this thread since it's valid, but just going to remind folks that -- now with the game out -- repeating this line nonstop in every thread is going to lead to warning/bans if it's not on topic. And it's not even because it's off-base rather it's just for the sake of the sanity of everyone and not having the same tired arguments/points being made every thread where things then go off the rails.

Also it's very odd that you can set it for 7 p.m. but it's not night, which makes it seem like a bug even if apparently it's not, especially because most of the ish in the stadium creator is stuff from already real stadiums. So if it were a tech issue with lighting, I'm not sure why it would not apply universally.

That being said, even I missed this one if they really did say it somewhere. Do we have a source? I feel like I watched most things and never remember hearing them say anything on this.

PS, as an side, I don't think the stadium creator vault is up/working yet. At least when I scoped it out last night, it was not with the other "vault" options. Maybe it's set off on its own somewhere else or something, or maybe it's just not turned on yet.
