OP Hitting settings
I’m a long time online player but dealing with the same ol frustrations on 21. I use zone plus analog for the realism feel and more than hold my own , yet my pitching is being destroyed worse than ever this year. It’s like they’re guessing everything I throw easily. Are my opponents using buttons or what’s the OP setting that’s getting anything I throw mashed.
Thx.Tags: None -

You have to remember that the game is only Early Access right now which means the field is basically the hardcore players. That alone can make pitching feel futile.I’m a long time online player but dealing with the same ol frustrations on 21. Also, it depends on your sequencing. Are you throwing predictable patterns? Make sure you're mixing pitches, speeds and locations.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/ -
Re: OP Hitting settings
My pitch sequencing is fine. My issue is whatever setting my opponents use is OP. Everything hit has a huge launch angle , and I’ve given up way too many no doubters. On well executed pitches , it’s flares hit into holes.
For example , online battle with Hank Aaron , my opponents fouls off pitches way high and low out of the strike zone. I throw 2 seamer up and away , no way he’s sitting on that and it’s pulled for a wall scraping walk off.
I could provide proof but this is a yearly issue for me. Still enjoying the game, and we’ll see come launch day if my frustrations aren’t as frequent. I’m being punished on zone analog vs whatever setting my opponents use. The tune might come , and hopefully it does.Comment

Re: OP Hitting settings
If you're comparing your settings vs the opponent I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed as the game doesn't match people up based off settings. People are just absurdly good at hitting in this game.My pitch sequencing is fine. My issue is whatever setting my opponents use is OP. The absolute optimal way to hit is Zone with Buttons and I'd reckon that's how most really good and consistent online hitters play.
But really, it sounds like hitting working the way it always has and it doesn't really have anything to do with settings the opponent uses. You can see the PCI of your opponent this year as well so you can tell if they're really squaring everything up.
If they are, then you just really have to try and mix your pitches differently to keep them off stride as it's only a matter of time before they square you up again. Really good hitters will always make the adjustment to you. If they aren't on the ball but still getting positive outcomes, make sure your pitcher isn't low confidence and/or energy as that affects outcomes greatly. If your pitcher is still good and all of the above is still happening, including opponent not having good PCI placement, then it's just "one of those games" where it feels like the RNG dice rolls are just going against you.Read my OS articles: https://www.operationsports.com/author/corydell/Comment
