Slider Peeps: What settings do you recommend for realistic AI bullpen usage

Where are we at with good sliders for AI bullpen management?

The game is so good, I haven´t messed with sliders in years. But I played a vs CPU game, and the same AI bullpen management issues were there. Basically, the AI would leave RPs for 2-3 innings at a time, regardless of outcome.

Is it just a function of upping bullpen manager hook?

This is not a slider issue more than a AI issue as a whole. You can bump the managers hook a click or two when they turn to the bullpen otherwise it will stay like this. However if you look at bullpens as a whole we are seeing more and more relievers be used for more than one inning with starters going less in a game. Three or four innings for relievers, consistently is certainly a stretch. But as I said this is more of a AI problem, or just a approach by the cpu. They have also for a few years been using more and more starters in the bullpen. You said you played a game? Play several more before making a decision.

So this is tough one because it is as alluded to in the post above an AI coding issue. Not a slider issue.

Now....since I employed 8/8 pitcher and reliever stamina and manager hook to 3 on HOF level we have gotten much better results. Still not where it should be...and they did nothing to address it on 21 from people in the know who have already PM’d me.

Also.....if you employ 30 team control.....you can sometimes step in to make sure the CPU uses different relievers in a series you are playing.

Because it simply is hard coded. And they still have not heard us on fixing it. Not a priority.

Im not seeing these issues in 21. I did knock down the reliever stamina by 2 though.

Interesting...so you are using 8 for reliever stamina? If so, have the 21 folks you PM'd used same settings?

Just want to throw this out there... WarmWind mentioned in another thread about CPU bullpen management being pretty good with 8/8/4 setting.

With that said, I played Red Sox/M's last night and the Red Sox bullpen management was very good! They had the lead going into the 7th inning and they brought in Brice in the 7th, Ottavino in the 8th and then Barnes in the 9th to close out the game.

Last year, most times they would have left relievers in for two innings and then bring in the closer.
