Mariners Rally for Walk-Off Win

Seattle - It was looking like another long night for the Mariners bats as White Sox starter Lucas Giolito was dealing early on. Mitch Haniger finally turned their fortunes around in the sixth inning however as he got a hold of a fastball sending it into the bullpens, and the Mariners bats seemed to find somewhat of a groove as they rallied for a 3-2 win. Good pitching blessed the Mariners again in this one, although it looked for a moment that the bullpen may give this one up when Yoan Moncada homered in the eighth to give Chicago the lead. J.P. Crawford, one of the few Mariners hitters starting the year well, tied it up in the bottom half with a solo shot of his own, and the decision to pinch run Jake Fraley after Ty France's leadoff single in the ninth proved a wise one as he sprinted home on a lazy fly ball that many runners would not have scored on, and coverted the sacrifice fly for the win. Seattle will look to pick up their first series win tomorrow afternoon when they face Lance Lynn (1-0, 2.25 ERA). Marco Gonzales (0-1, 1.50 ERA) takes the mound for the Mariners in the finale.
