Whats the chance at a deep dive on chain wrestling?
We are almost a year in and most players can't chain together more then one turn. I cant perform the single leg denied to power single switch. You guys made a game with all this beautiful chain wrestling just waiting to be discovered and noone has found out how to do it. This game needs a better tutorial. For now can you please make a deep dive on the chain wrestling and better explain it?Tags: None -

Re: Whats the chance at a deep dive on chain wrestling?
This is the answer I got from zyaf.
"It depends on how fast they defend and both of your ST stam when the first TD is initiated IIRC...
... So basically notice when they defend before they get single under and go for the next turn...
... It's almost always going to be when they have low ST stam."
Videos of it being done:
It would be better if these things had training drills in the tutorials. Idk how to do it yet, I have tried to do multiple turns when they have low stamina but I must be doing something wrong. Some sort of drill in the tutorials would be useful in learning this sorta stuff, especially with timing indicators, prompts etc.Comment

Re: Whats the chance at a deep dive on chain wrestling?
Honestly, as opposed to focusing on the turns, I think bails into the clinch (and subsequent re-shots) should be the main focus for enhancing the chain wrestling.
Because honestly, it’s the clinch is where the magic happens. That’s where all the immersion of “chain wrestling” comes from. It’s the bails into the clinch, the re-shots and trips, pushing each other around, etc.
So the clinch should be involved more, along with pushing/moving within the clinch. And failed trip attempts shouldn’t lead to automatic separations, and short term stamina cost should be reduced to allow more activity and attempts. This would give players more time to attempt stuff and go from takedown to clinch to trip to takedown again. And decreasing short term stam tax would make it so when they finally separate, they can immediately shoot and do it all over again.
This creates more of an up-down, up-down, you defended my shot but I’m still here type of feel.
The turns are nice and all, especially when they prolong enough to do more than one... but they don’t contribute *THAT* much to a chain wrestling vibe.Last edited by Good Grappler; 06-02-2021, 12:38 PM.Xbox GT: the relaxed guyComment

Re: Whats the chance at a deep dive on chain wrestling?
Did they remove this stuff from the game or something? Cuz I find after they deny one turn, you are unable to control the td anymore it seems. Like after they defend a turn, it'll just drive them forward. I can understand not allowing multiple attempts when opponent has high stamina, but when you have a significant stamina advantage, you should be able to do these things. Sort of like how the td bails into the clinch work now. If I have a good bit of stamina advantage and they deny my first turn attempt, I should be able to go for another turn or bail into clinch, ect. If they removed these things that was a horrible decision. Taking away the beauty of the grappling.Comment

Yh i've tried too and it doesn't work...even when they have low stamina. If their stamina is low and they deny the 1st turn, the 2nd attempt just drives them forward and you cant seem to control it. I can understand not being able to do it when they have high stamina, but if you have a significant stamina advantage and they deny the first turn, you should be able to attempt another turn, bail into the clinch, ect. That kind of stuff is the beauty of chain wrestling. Really hope it wasnt removed.Comment
