Thanks for posting this. I just wish all 32 teams had their own unique HFA. Hopefully it’ll be like that in Madden 23. I’m still grateful that they at least tried to make something that’s unique.

I give them an "A" for creativity. But not so much for realism....and things could get wacky. My experience hasn't been great with games with developers try to define "Momentum" with an algorithm......and several of these HFA's are just piling on to that. I guess we'll see though.

The momentum stuff seems to work pretty well in the beta.

BYW Brian, the Jets fans and crowd are even more rowdy than the Giants fans. The GMEN have a traditionally more conservative crowd (similar to the Yankees in NYC, meaning been there done that) as opposed to the Hets fans who are starving, Fireman ED getting the crowd pumped to start the J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS!! Chant, the air raid siren blaring…… God I hope my Jets are finally going on the right direction with coach Saleh and Zach Wilson!

Re: Complete List of Madden 22 Home-Field Advantage Factors

He has a lot of the same concerns I had. I'm so happy they're thinking about these things, but I don't think the implementation is well thought-out atm. It very well could be balanced, I didn't play the beta, but the principle of these boosts is what I take issue with.

IMO only realistic factors or momentum-related boosts should exist for the HFA's. I'm totally fine with other momentum-based achievements leading to actual attribute boosts to get that "snowball" effect, but I just don't the Lions should accelerate faster for hitting their HFA objective which is the first one you get, right? Especially when other teams simply get "more momentum" it just feels like Ford Field will have a bigger on-field HFA than many other teams.

I love that Denver has the fatigue effect because it's realistic, as well as the Miami, Chicago, Buffalo, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and even the Green Bay HFA's because they're realistic. I don't like ones like Detroit or Minnesota which give weird attribute boosts for simply hitting the HFA momentum objective which is the easiest one to get. So it's a good first attempt, but I think I'd rather see more generic momentum-based boosts for HFA tbh rather than these "gimmicky" boosts that seem to exist solely to be different.

Maybe have distinct Stadium traits and HFA's? Turf plays faster, grass plays a bit slower. Chicago wind affects both teams, Washington's poor field affects both teams, idk. Just seems like there are enough good and poor or unrealistic "HFA's" here to branch this concept out into two distinct things so that they make a little more sense and to bring a little more balance in general to HFA's.

Thanks. Not a fan of many of these. Would prefer it to all be related to weather/time zone/ crowd or turf.

                      Same.

A lot of them just seem to be drawn out of a hat at random.

If I could fire the actual cannon at the field that would be different.

The thought I appreciate but the execution I do not.

If we can toggle this on or off, I’ll just shut off the ones that aren’t reasonably realistic.

I know i posted about this in another thread about this but i will do the same here again.

But the concern my friend had about these is lets say a team is having a awful season, maybe like 2 years later a team like the Seahawks are 2-12 on the season so far, would they still have all this momentum and home field effects?

I know the madden team said they are using the next gen stats for players, wonder if that would include home field advantages based on records?

Unpopular opinion here, but I believe the stats would reveal that the disparity of HFA advantage across the league is pretty negligible. That "unstable ground" didn't help the 49ers all that much last year. They were 1-7 at home while winning 5 on the road. Meanwhile, the Bengals won 3X as many games as home as they did on the road.

The 49ers played several of their “home” games in Arizona. And it’s the crowd and time zone changes that are the most beneficial, not turf conditions.
